I'm trying to send and receive XmlDocument objects using the
System.Messaging.dll functions. The code I've written follows, as best I
can tell, the methodology used in the sample code for the
XmlMessageFormatter class. But it isn't working -- specifically, receiving
isn't working. What am I doing wrong here?
I begin by creating a MessageQueue object and setting up its
XmlMessageFormatter to handle XmlDocument objects:
System.Type...

Hi.
I am trying to use Sockets to do multiple Send and Receives via HTTP
(not simultaneously). A first pair of Send/Receives works fine and
sure enough I receive HTML back, but the next Send/Receive pair (even
if identically the same as the first pair) returns no data.
eg. The following simplified code will receive some bytes:
s.Send(ByteGet, ByteGet.Length, SocketFlags.None);
bytes = s.Receive(RecvBytes, RecvBytes.Length, 0); //...

I wrote a small server/client app. I created a class for my customized
socket object using (synchronous) Sockets functions for both server
and client use.
When client connects to server, if It sends something to server,
everything works fine (i.e. server received what client sent). But if
I try to make server send anything, client receive 0 byte although
server send a correct bytes size.
Any idea ?

Hi All,
I am trying to understand the blocking method socket.Send().
The call blocks as expected, but does this mean, it returnes after the
underlying TCP layer got a confirmation, that the send data was received by
the socket on the remote end? Can I count on that? Do I understand TCP
correctly in that, it gives confirmation ? I do not
expect, that a .Net based receiver got that data when socket.Send()
terminates!

Hi,
I've this kind a program, using sockets to communicate with the clients. One
of the clients can be a web browser (like IE).
When using IE as a client, the transmission blocks completely, and IE times
out after a long time while stating opening from http://localhost:7765...
I have a main thread that starts TCPListener and listens and accepts the
connection and queues a worker thread to handle the socket transmission:

I am looking into UdpClient sample code from MSDN where one UdpClient object
used for both send and receive operation.
Please take a look at the link below
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/cpref/html/frlrfsystemnetsocketsudpclientclasstopic.asp
I can't make similar to this code work. The udpClient.Receive method waits
for timeout seconds and then throws exception "timeout expired".
If however I use...

smtpClient.Send(message)
is causing me problems as per specifics in the trace below. Email is sent
but not without this error typically upon sending the second email, but
sometimes when running the app, even the first time. The application will
be required to be sending out repeated emails, about one every second or
two.
Must this be done asynchronously? Thank you. -Greg
I get the generic error messages;

Hello,
Could someone please explain why the Socket.Send is slow to send to the same
process it sending from. Eg. Process1 calls Socket.Send which sends to the
same IP address and port, the receiver is running within Process1.
If I move the receiver into Process2 then its fast.
Please can someone explain.

Hi,
My understanding is that for the same socket, assuming send and receive run
at two different threads, I have to use BeginReceive to avoid the blocking on
send part. However, I can jsut use Send without worrying about any threading
issue in case send and beginreceive happens at the same time on the socket?
Am I correct on this?
Thanks

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
