Hi,

Use one of the view kind constants. For example:

_applicationObj ect.Documents.O pen(docPath, Constants.vsVie wKindCode, false);

Well, let's start with this quote from MSDN:

"This method supports the .NET Framework infrastructure and is not intended
to be used directly from your code."

Thus the reason the documentation is poor on this method, it is not intended
to be called in code. That being said, try "Auto".

Also, the preferred way to do this is to use the ItemOperations. OpenFile()
method:

_applicationObj ect.ItemOperati ons.OpenFile(do cPath, Constants.vsVie wKindCode);

This method returns an EnvDTE.Window and you can access the EnvDTE.Document
that was opened through its Document property.

Apologies for the newbie question. I have created a vb.net program for my company that is designed to work with Word Templates (about forty of them that we commonly use) that are selected by the user and populated (with info from an Access database) at run-time, then saved as Word documents. The program I have coded works fine -- it does what I need it to do. But it has two problems: (1) it runs very slowly, and (2) it does not seem to...

I'm the developer of an enterprise level web application that among other things handles documents. The documents are stored in a database. There is now simple functionality to check out and download the document. This is done my a normal response to the browser, streaming the document. The user then gets the normal option to 'open', 'save' or 'cancel' til downloaded file. Normal usage would be to save the file to a known location, open...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...
