TabControl resize bug found. Is there a workaround?

Using VS 2005. I'm hardly the first to discover this, but here's a
description of the bug as I found it:

1. Make a new form.
2. Add a SplitContainer and make it horizontal.
3. Add a TabControl to the upper panel.
4. Anchor the TabControl in all four directions.
5. Start.

Now, drag the SplitContainer border down a bit, release, and see how the
TabControl is not redrawn properly. Dragging the border upwards works as
indended.

I wonder if there's a workaround. Updating the TabControl on
SplitterMoved() didn't work.

How can I place a label in FRONT of the tabs on my tabControl? I have three tabs in my tabControl and I want to make some use of the space to right of them. But when I try it puts the label behind the tabControl. I have tried "send to back" and "bring to front" but they don't seem to help - maybe I am using them wrong.

Hi all, I have a CheckedListBox on one pane of a TabControl on a form. I find that whenever the user clicks a different tab then comes back, any checks that were in the list have disappeared. After a bit of experimenting I have discovered that the problem only occurs when the CheckedListBox is using a dataset table as the source. If I manually add items to it's collection using the properties window, it works fine. If I bind it to a...

Consider adding a TabPage with size=(300,300) to a TabControl, then calling tabControl.ClientSize=tabPage.Size; You would think tabControl.Size must now be BIGGER than tabControl.ClientSize to accomadate room for the tabs and borders. In fact they are the same size! Compare this to adding a Panel to a Form. Form.Size would be slightly

Although lots of people described how to workaround the lack of ability to hide and show tab pages on a tab control, I couldnt find a code example so I made one. Create a class that inherits from the tabcontrol and then add the following Private htVisibleVal As New Hashtable Private htVisibleKey As New Hashtable Private htInvisibleKey As New Hashtable 'stores the current tabpages

I have a few hundred forms in my application. All are based on a custom base form class. I decided that I wanted to globally change the look and feel of many of the controls in my application - including the tab control. I did this by writing a component that I attached to the form. The component has a "Start" function which takes the form as a paramater. This cycles through all the controls on the form, changes some of the properties...

Hello, I am trying to organize the controls on a TabControl. The tabcontrol is sitting on a dialog with OK and Cancel buttons. So I created 2 TableLaoutPanels -- one for TabControl and one for OK/Cancel buttons. On the TabControl, there are a few tab pages. Each page has different number of controls. My question is: Should I create TableLayoutPanel for each TabPage in order to resize the controls on TabPage when the application is...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
