Hello
I am learning VB.NET and was toying with the idea of embellishing my
database program with Crystal Reports to provide some data reporting
facilities.
I was put off by the cost of Crystal, however, and was wondering if
there were any free or very low cost report writers that would work
with VB.NET. I want to run the reports from within VB, extracting the
data either from Access or SQL Server.

Because I wanted the builds for my ASP.NET sites to be a single *.dll in a
/bin/ directory (like VSNET 2003), I decided to try the Web Application
Project download. However, I am still pulling my hair out because it doesn't
want to recognize any of the Controls (not even the ones that are part of
ASP.NET). All of the Controls show the following error:

I have a page name edit.asp which should expire immediately .The user
cannot open this page directly he has to provide a password for
entering this page.thus when the user enters edit.asp , it has a button
EDIT ,which when user clicks directs him to another page (done.asp).
Now the problem is that from this page (done.asp) if he clicks on the
back button on the toolbar then edit.asp opens.But I don't want it to

I inherited some code that uses the settings designer to manage some app
settings. One of the settings is a connection string that has a
DefaultSettingValueAttribute with hard coded text for a connection string. I
would like it to read from the app.config file at runtime, but am not sure
how to get it to do that. I tried putting in code to read the config
section in the attribute instead of the text, but it didnt compile.

I was developing a large web site in VS 2005 as a web site project. I
was having problems with the VS 2005 publish tool. It was slow, and
provided no feedback. It has other issues as outlined below.
Here is my solution. I converted the application from a Web Site
Project (WSP) to a Web Application Project (WAP). Go to http://webproject.scottgu.com/
and read about the Web Application Project in VS 2005.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
