I''m having a problem with cookies that is driving me insane :).
- If a user comes to http://domain.com and a cookie is set for them, then the user for whatever reason jumps to http://www.domain.com one of the 2 happens:
1) The cookie we set can not be read (expected), but then a new one can not be written ether (I looked at the server headers and although the cookie information is sent, IE ignores it).
2) The cookie from...

Hi All,
Just wondering how you go about changing the value of a session cookie
via javascript?
I have a PHP page that sets a session cookie when it first loads. I'd
like to be able to change the value of that session cookie in response
to a button click in a form, without resubmitting the page.
For some reason, the following doesn't seem to work:

When I reference document.cookie, there is a long string of key=value;
pairs listed. I may have 100 hundred cookies on my hard drive.
However, most only have one key=value pair. Does the document.cookie
variable combine all cookie key=value pairs?
All of the examples I've seen discuss referencing a specific cookie. I
don't see how this is done.
Cookies are usually named by the domain. If I want to reference a
specific cookie, do I...

I'm plannig an asp.net web farm.
I expect to use a SQL database for session state management, ie.
<sessionState mode="SQLServer" cookieless="false" .../>
My application uses web forms authentication, with a secure cookie, ie.
<authentication mode="Forms">
<forms name="mycookie" loginUrl=https://secure.domain.com
requireSSL="true"/>
</authentication>

I have been having some trouble with implementing a custom Membership
Provider. We have a custom data store and business logic that pulls user
information. I need some level of functionality above and beyond what the
prodiver currently allows. I need the ability to access a user id and the
user's permission id. With Forms authentication in 1.1, I would just create
a custom identiy and principal and store the information in the identity....

I did try to find the answer to this before posting, so this isn't a
knee jerk reaction.
What I am trying to accomplish is to have a script that opens a
cookie, reads a value, and then use a switch/case to take action based
on that value in the cookie. I want to set the cookie manually, so I
don't need setcookie(). I see that in PHP it stores the cookie in
memory. Is there a way to have PHP just read a cookie from the desktop
machine?...

I have serveral applications now running that are using the
MembershipProvider classes and they are each using their own security tables
in SQL Server 2005 instead of the express databases - they are all work
well.
Now we have a need to have many different asp.net websites and web services
use a single security database because they all share the same user and
administrator community. It doesn't seem there will be a problem with all
of...

Hi all,
Is there an easier way to handle that? I used Javascript to handle this when
our two domains are hosted on two different servers(on different networks)
and our search engine marketing people don't like the javascript links since
they think the links are not favorable to a search robot.
Now our company is thinking about hosting these two domians on the same
server,
So I am wodering if there is any easy way to do that. Would you...

I am writing a browser toolstrip bar that sits in IE. How do I set a cookie
in the browser for a specific domain before the user navigates to that domain.
I only have access to IE as an SHDocVw.WebBroswerClass
I am trying to set the cookie using
mshtml.HtmlDocument.cookie="name=value;domain=.example.com";
but when I try listening for BeforeNavigate2 event on the browser, the

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
