Help regarding DirectX

Hi,

I need to use DirectX in my application for drawing the network
diagram.
May I know the procedure to draw a Graph( Rectangular boxes connected
with straight lines) using DirectX.
Could you please throw some light on DirectX as I have very little
knowledge about it.

My main intension is to draw rectangular boxes which are connected
through lines and containing some text.
Mynext question is how to drag those rectangular boxes,,,Is there any
specific function which can be used for this purpose?Otherwi se do I
need to handle it in the way how we use do in GDI(Calculating the
offset values in the mouse event handlers)?
And also How to make my screen scrollable?

Hope I am not asking too many questions, Please answer my last question
of this mail, i.e
In GDI when ever we try to resize(or minmize) the window the on-paint()
handler will be raised right, Similarly, May I know if there is any
such event handler in DIRECtX.
And also i need to draw ovals in my application

Please help me in this regard.

Thanks,
Azeez.

Hello, I'm a C# programmer. I have two projects. First, write an action scrolling game in C#, (portable to Windows Mobile eventually...), This game will look like The Adventure of Link from Nintendo, or Super Mario Bros... I didn't planned to use DirectX since all tutorials I have seen for DirectX are for 3D.

It also runs on the Dell and the Compaq under VS 2005, but when I attempt to run the code under VS 2005 on the Gateway (Windows XP MCE), I get...

I just downloaded the apparently free SDK for DirectX 9, all 200+ MB of it, but as I read about WPF I wonder: is DirectX obsolete? Should I even bother learning how to use it? After all, the end user must have the DirectX library installed on their PC before they can use any video playing program you write. Does WPF even use DirectX? Or are the functions of DirectX (mostly video and graphics stuff, possibly accelerated via software...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...
