Hi all,
Is there a way to hide a member in a subclass that has been inherited from a
base class?
Lets leave aside any issues regarding whether its a good idea for a moment.
Here's an example similar to what I'm thinking about.
Lets suppose I make a class called RoleCollection.

I have a usercontrol that inherits from control.
I want to "remove" properties that are not relevant (backcolor,
backgroundimage) etc..
How can this be accomplished?
TIA

How does one declare an event within an interface, so that every class which
implements that interface must implement that event? I think I just need to
specifiy the actual event as I would a function, but what about the
delegate?
Up to now, all my interfaces have only dealt with properties and functions.
Here's basically what I want to do (for example):
public interface IFoo

Hi
I have a common model for a Data Access Layer scenario. I have an abstract
base class, called DalBase which contains a list of abstract methods. Lets
call them:
public abstract void Shine();
public abstract void Flow();
public abstract void Float();
I then have an inherited class, called DalMain which contains the concrete

Hi.
I'm just wondering how come the compiler complains when
you declare a new sub as overridable but it then lets you
define multiple new subs with different interfaces,
essentially overriding each other.
For example, this doesn't work:
public overridable sub new()

Hi,
I just downloaded the TeeChart tool for easy drawing etc.,
and try to activate this from my own app. TeeChart comes
with many classes, interfaces etc, etc. The problem is that
I don't quite understand the structure of the TeeChart
classes hierarchy.
E.g. in the manual I found next VB .NET code for refering to
the chart's left axis: TChart.Axis.Left

I'm trying to detect the interfaces directly inherited by a class. I've
tried to use the Type.GetInterfaces method but in a situation like
this:
public interface I
{
void f();
}
public interface I2 : I

I am on a team that is developing a proposal generation web application and we are using a custom base page (ProGenBase.cs) located in the app_code directory and all of the app's web pages inherit from this custom page. Additionally I have a main menu tab control that is located in a master page and certain tabs are displayed dependant on the users authentication level. I am using boolean properties in the master page to control the visible...

Hi All,
We have done a object oriented design for a system which will create a
class multiply inherited by around 1000 small and medium sized
classes.
I would be greatful if you can help me with the following:
Can this create any problems with GNU g++ compilation, linking etc?
What would be the impact to the performance of the system?
Anything else we have to consider?

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
