Over the last few days, I reinstalled Win2kSP2 to a spare harddrive I
had just swapped into my Fujitsu LifeBook P1120 (long story <wink>).
Subsequently, I DL'ed the newest Python alpha (2.4a2), and when trying
to install it, I immediately got this error:
This installation package cannot be installed by the
Windows Installer service. You must install a
Windows service pack that contains a newer version
of the Windows Installer service.

I created a COM AddIn for Word that performs the functions
that it needs to, but I needed to add the ability for the
toolbar created by the COM AddIn to remember it's last
position and whether it was docked or not. I added the
following code to my "OnConnection" function but it fails
with an error, "Run-time exception thrown :
System.IO.IOException - Bad file name or number."
With applicationObject.CommandBars("SampleToolbar")

except the DAS and the instance. When I run:

Hello,
I have developed an Office Add-In (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). When i
install the Add-In with the Setup-Project on another machine (a machine
without vs.net installed) -> nothing happens when i start the
application (Word, Excel or PowerPoint). I must:
1) manually register my addin with regasm
2) install the office xp pia on this machine

All,
I have coded an Outlook automation Addin in C# and .NET.
I created the project using the Extensibility wizard. The
Addin installs and runs Ok on my machine.
However I am unable to succsefully install the Addin on
other machines. The install runs without error, it does
unpack necessary files, and it does create many Addin
related registry keys - but Outlook does not seem to be
