Hi
I hope you can help with what seems to be a simple problem that is driving
me nuts!
I am developing a C# application using Visual studio 2003 and I need to use
Office 2003 automation.
In the helpfile it says to install the .Net Programmability support from
Office setup or install Office using the complete option. Then select New
Project in the Visual Studio 2003 IDE and choose the Microsoft Office System

I needed to create office projects from Visual Studio and installed Office
Pro 2003. Visual Studio 2003 in already running. But after Office
installation is completed, I wasn't able to see 'Microsoft Office 2003

Has anyone had this scenario before? Thanks.

Hi.
Is it safe to instll Access 2000 on a system that already has Windows XP and
Office 2002 (Word, Excel Access, Powerpoint). Anyone done this?
I would install it in a searate directory but don't know about any common
dlls etc.
I ask this because at my work we use Access 2000 and would like to work at
home, but don't want to get into compatability/conversion issues between the

Hi Folks,
I have a widely distributed Access 200 Application. I must retain my
ability to support users who are still on Access 2000 and Access 2000
Runtime. However I also need to upgrade my development environment to
Office 2003 Professional.
My question is: Where can I find a comprehensive description of the
known issues that will affect my ability to do all of the above after
I upgrade my own development environment to Office...

Some time back i learnt that Office 2003 will be built to be able to use
managed code (instead of the classic VBA).
Is this true.
Can someone please, give me a link where i could learn about this (a few
samples perhaps).
(preferably Word or Excel 2003).
Regards,
Thilaka

In reply to the thread at http://www.thescripts.com/forum/thread622173.html . I have a slightly modified version of the steps involved that worked on my computer.
1. Install Office 97, but exclude Outlook. Outlook will cause a problem with install. It will show up in the SR-2B install log. This is located in: c:\program files\Microsoft Office\Office\Setup . The log will show "Unable to move C:\Windows\system32\mapi32.dll".
2. Run the...

I have a question for Beth Melton.
Hello. This is Ray. I read an answer you graciously gave to another user about the constant popping up of "Windows Installer - Preparing to install". I cannot find anything to eliminate this headache and would be grateful for your insight and suggestions.
Many people suggest running something like Windows Install Clearner (not sure that's the correct name), but on the ms website about it, we are...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
