Creating publisher certificate

Hi all,

We installed MS CA here so that we can sign our own publisher
certificates. The problem is now I'm having problems figuring out how
to request a code signing certificate.

I set the CS template so that you can request certificates based off of
it, but the problem is that when I request the certificate, it puts my
name in as the publisher, when I really want to enter the company's
name.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Andy

We have a .NET dll that we are deploying to our customers using a deployment project in VS .NET 2003. There is a lot of information about creating publisher policies on the web, but we have not been successful in creating one. Here's what the ultimate goal is: When the DLL is deployed to a customer's system, every application using this dll must point to the new version. This has to be an automated process using the deployment project....

I am working on a special ASP.Net application that receives files from customers. The connection is made via HTTPS and the client sends the file as a POST to my ASP.Net listener. All of this works fine. Now I am looking at how to validate the clients certificate programmatically. The client application sends to me with something like: .... Dim myHttp As HttpWebRequest = CType(WebRequest.Create(https://myserver/Receive.aspx),...

Hello, I am trying to create a certificate for our internet for our employees so that they can login to system from home. Do I have to go, for example, VeriSign to get a certificate? Can I create my own certificate and use it since it is not actually a public web site? Thanks,

Hi, I'm coding some small applications, that will run from a networkdrive. To make the applications run from network drive, I need to trust every one of them. I use the .net Wizard, to give the applications full trust, then they run. I can see, there's an oppertunity to trust all assemblys from one publisher. But how can I put myself as publisher on my code in Visual Studio 2003?

Hi, I'm afraid this will no doubt horrendously basic as I'm a complete newbie to VB and have dived in without learning to do much... Start in the deep end and all. So if anyone could help, I'd appreciate it; I've got this bit of code and I couldn't for the life of me tell you why it doesn't work, if anyone else can I'd appreciate it! Cheers

I used Visual Studio 2005 to create a "Windows Installer Package". When I ran the package on a Windows XP computer, I got a warning -- "Unknown publisher". My question is: what steps do I need to take to get rid of the warning? I do not want to my customers to warnings like this. Thanks Charles Zhang

Hello, This MSDN article talks about calling certmgr.exe to automate adding certificates on the client work stations. http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/en-us/dnwinforms/html/clickoncetrustpub.asp?frame=true But CertMgr.exe is a part of the SDK and not just the framework redistributable. So how does one automate the task of installing the trusted publisher and Certifying Authority certificate ?

Hi all, I developed application in C# to be used in Vista. I used manifest so power user or any other user beside administrator can run. The problem is that the power user gets message that the application was developed by unknown publisher. I created test certificate and ran it in administrator and power user. Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
