Users want to click on a control and immediately ship a Publisher -- or
PDF -- document to the printer.
I found an old conversation with this code for Word:
Dim wdApp As Word.Application
Dim wdDoc As Word.Document
Set wdApp = New Word.Application

I've published shareware and have distributed the installation package
as an MSI.
I noticed once an "Unknown Publisher" error when I downloaded and
installed my software on some machine, but I cannot reproduce this
anymore.
Exactly what windows security configuration is necessary for the user
to be prompted "Unknown Publisher" when installing unsigned
installation packages? And more importantly, is this configuration

Hi All,
I am fairly new to MS SQL Replication. I have two servers one is setup
as the publisher and the other is setup as both the subscriber and the
distributor.
Due to server reboots, the publicher DB became corrupted therefore we
pointed all activity to the subscriber DB. Now we would like to bring
back the publisher online, but we do not have a backup.

I have developed a MSAccess2000 application. When I launch that application from a web page, I get a security warning: UNKNOWN PUBLISHER, PUBLISHER COULD NOT BE VERIFIED.
I am operating under XP professional.
How do I create a digital signature or fix this problem? This application is for my personal use only, but it has to be from the web.
thanks

I used Visual Studio 2005 to create a "Windows Installer Package". When
I ran the package on a Windows XP computer, I got a warning -- "Unknown
publisher".
My question is: what steps do I need to take to get rid of the warning?
I do not want to my customers to warnings like this.
Thanks

I have a set of programs that automatically get updated from our server. On
some machines, when I download a new version it says 'Unknown publisher.
Continue?'. My program is supposed to run unattended so this isn't
acceptable.
How can I get windows to not put up this message?
TIA - Jeff.

Hi all,
I developed application in C# to be used in Vista. I used manifest so
power user or any other user beside administrator can run.
The problem is that the power user gets message that the application
was developed by unknown publisher.
I created test certificate and ran it in administrator and power user.
In administrator I don't get the "unknown publisher" any more, while
in the power user I do + I need to add the admin's...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
