My details view is in insert mode and my dataset is empty but the details
view doesnt show.
who can help me, how to do?
Also I tried to set the defaultmode to insert mode, but i found i can't
cancel the inserting.

Is there a way to increase the width of the text boxes for the DetailsView
in edit or insert mode? When I put the control in either edit or insert
mode, the text boxes to type the new text are always much smaller than the
available space in the row.

Hi,
I've seen this prob in a few places but the explanations/solution wasn't
up to my understanding!
I have a detailsview, with an insert button that works fine when there
is already data in the bound datasource, but it appears blank otherwise.
One solution was to make all fields templatefields, with itemtemplate
and insertitemtemplate for each field. This didn't appear to change

the MS Ajax framework to the latest one (and had to rename my controls

I am struggling with trying to retrieve the value of an autoincrement identity field after a DetailsView Insert operation. The
DetailsView is bound to an SqlDataSource control.
So far as I can tell, nowhere in the arguments for either the Inserted event for the DetailsView or the Inserted event for the
SqlDataSource control is the value stored. Adding a dummy bound column for the identity field to the DetailsView doesn't work,
