Update:
My custom control is based on the article
"Creating Visual Basic .NET controls from scratch"
in "Adventures in .NET" on MSDN.
It is designed to be a replacement for the VB6 shape
control.
My control draws a shape (circle, square, rectangle ...)

Hi there. I know I can make a form transparent by setting the transparent
color, opacity, etc. Is there a way of making the background of a label and
the background of a picturebox transparent also, so that I can place some
text on top of an image (seing the image behind the text instead of the gray
box of the label) and showing to the user only the image without the
background of the picturebox or form, and the text over it?
Any Ideas?...

I have been banging my head for a couple of hours now. No matter what I
do the color that I make transparent is black. Here is the code I am
using from MSDN. I have tried bitmaps, jpegs, gifs and new bitmaps
created in code, but I cant get any image to go transparent. Thanks if
you can help.
// Create a Bitmap object from an image file.
Bitmap myBitmap = new
Bitmap(System.Web.HttpContext.Current.Server.MapPath("resources/img/")

Provide a layered menu (vertical) using JavaScript and if it overlaps with
ASPX controls, the controls overlap and remain opaque over the menu items
even if
it has transparent option. This holds true of menus with images too. What is
the workaround here apart from horizontal menu structure which we already
have.
I am sure this is an age old problem. Do we have a vaiable solution though?
Thanks,

I have a UserControl that contains two pictureboxes.
One on top of the other.
The top one is smaller then the bottom one.
The top one is to be transparent.
I want to draw on it and then sometimes clear it and sometimes copy the
drawing to the bottom picturebox image or BackgroundImage.
Just to see if it would work I set the Background color of the top one to
transparent but, rather then seeing the bottom box in the transparent one I...

Hi,
I have just searched MSDN and Google and can't find a tutorial about how to
add icons to menus in a VB.NET or C#.NET Windows Forms application.
Does anyone know how it's done or can point me at a tutorial that is easy to
follow.
In anticipation, thanks.

selection bar on menus of VS2005.
ie. Navy blue border with a light blue transparent background which

I am doing drop-down menus for a site I'm developing (not my idea,
neadless to say.) I have a nice robust Javascript that handles it, and
it actually WORKS, works across browsers even! How unexpected!
However, I have one TINY problem. In netscape, ON OCCASION, the
drop-down menus will show up halfway down the page. Reloading fixes
this. Resizing the windows fixes this. (It's asising, I think,
because of the Mozilla...

I am using a CSS-based glossy menu that I found on Dynamic Drive. Using Internet Explorer 7, the sub-menus appear towards the right once the mouse is pointing over the top level. Using Firefox, all of the sub-menus appear all at once as a bulleted and indented list. Is there any way to have Firefox appear identical to Internet Explorer 7? Perhaps this has something to do with Firefox not supporting li:hover... I do not know... just a...

Hi.
I have a menu horizontal on the top.
I figured out that if I set this property the black arrow on parent
items goes away..
StaticEnableDefaultPopOutImage="False"
However, the item is still wider than other items accross than items

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
