What is up with the SQL newsgroup?

I know this is the wrong place to post this question, but I don't know where
else to post it. I tried to call Microsoft, but they want my credit card to
resolve this problem. I just posted a question here that should probably go
in the SQL group, but I can't get there.

I go to www.microsoft.com
I click on 'Communities' in the left navigation menu.
I click on 'Newsgroups' in the center navigation menu.
I click on 'Sql Server' in the center navigation menu.
I get the following error (I have been for about a week or so):

We’re sorry, but there is no Microsoft.com Web page that matches your entry.
It is possible you typed the address incorrectly, or the page may no longer
exist. You may wish to try another entry or choose from the links below,
which we hope will help you find what you’re looking for.

Why don't you try posting to one of the usenet groups under
microsoft.publi c.sqlserver or microsoft.publi c.sqlxml?

If you're looking for free support from MS under the guise of one of
their corporately-sponsored newsgroups... well, if they offered that,
then nobody would pay for phone support, would they? :-)

What's better about Ruby than Python? I'm sure there's something. What is it? This is not a troll. I'm language shopping and I want people's answers. I don't know beans about Ruby or have any preconceived ideas about it. I have noticed, however, that every programmer I talk to who's aware of Python is also talking about Ruby. So it seems that Ruby has the potential to compete with and displace Python. I'm curious on what basis it...

I think that everyone who told me that my question is irrelevant, in particular Mr. David White, is being absolutely ridiculous. Obviously, most of you up here behave like the owners of the C++ language. A C++ interface installation IS ABOUT THE C++ LANGUAGE! The language does not possess the ability to handle even simple file directory manipulation. Those wise people that created it did not take care of it. So, BOOST is a portable...

hi there, over the last few days i have posted a few questions about some non-standard C headers/functions. from being on the list in the last few days i have noticed that this was not the correct place to ask such questions. is now know this newsgroup is a "C Standard Library" newsgroup, rather than a "general questions about C" list. it took me a few days to realise this... and i will therefore not bother the list again unless i have...

Hi friends, I need to write a parallel code in 'C' on the server that is running SGI Irix 6.5. This server supports MIPS Pro C compiler. I don't have any idea of parallel C languages. I looked into few posts in this group. I could make out that there are several languages for parallel programming and parallel C is one of them. I need to know if this is supported by MIPS Pro C Compiler. Or are there any other parallel C languages that have...

This are the people who are awarded for ther work in the newsgroup 2003-2004 http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;en-us;mvpaward&style=toc Except Herfried you see nobody on this list who is real active in this farmost largest developer newsgroup As Fergus Cooney once said"this is the backyard from the Microsoft newsgroups".

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
