Whidbey - Custom Control

I have created custom control that inherits from a control type toolstrip to
which I add several buttons to him, when using this control appears to me a
control toolstrip but without ningun button, which I can do so that these

Just finished reading about upcoming features in 2004 version of VS.NET and C# in particular http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/productinfo/roadmap.aspx# whidbey Looks good and I am very happy (about generics, split types...), Except 1 thing Microsoft is reintroducing the "Edit and continue" future for VB.NET ONLY???? The "Edit and Continue" functionality in debugger is NOT about simplicity, but about having a modern and powerful

Hi I understand that ASP.net 2.0 (Whidbey) is going to reduce coding by 70%. Surely this is going to de-skill or dumb down the developer's task and open up the task of web development to less qualified and trained staff. Tell me if I'm wrong.

Right now the only way to use a WinForms control in MFC is to enable COM Interop for the control and use it in MFC as you would any ActiveX control. While this works, COM Interop is a pain, and an ActiveX control isn't as straight-forward as a CWnd-derived object. It also means that I have to split my code into two projects. Going the other way (using MFC in WinForms) is only possible by exposing MFC objects as ActiveX controls, which...

I heard somewhere that Whidbey and ASP.NET 2.0 was going to simplify the order of events during page/control rendering. Has Microsoft released any information about how they will be doing that? Thanks, Michael Carr

When using a custom control. In order to check and see if values have changed one has to implement the IPostBackDataCollection interface. The values returned for the control seem to be simply a string with comma delimited values. For example, if I were to render two text boxes. One with the Value Terry and the Other with the Value 'Burns' I would get the following value Terry,Burns.

Hi Iam new to MS .Net technology just getting along with it....I created a custom control ,which takes in a query and displays the data in a tabular format....something similar to a datagrid. Since its a custom Control I drag and drop and use it in my Pages. I overload the render method of my Custom Control and I pass the data that is to be displayed. Now there is a requisite I have to add a Control ( Say for ex a Dropdown List box)...

Hello i have made a custom control. i have placed a panel on it. I want this panel to behave just like the normal panel. The problem i was having is that the panel on my custom control doesnt accept other controls. The control i drag drop on it becomes the child of my custom control's parent form and not the child of my custom control. Then i added this line "" before my custom control class (i dont know what this line does). Now

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
