using visual web developer?

I haven't had much experience with it, so I'm wondering, is VWD
something you can use to create a personal website, or would
Dreamweaver, etc. be better for that sort of thing?

not a c# question at all I"m afraid :)

What is VWD ? this is the first time I heard of it, DW is good for a
designer, for a more complex programming tasks VS is the best one IMO.

If you are heading ASP.NET 2.0, VWD 2005 Express is a great product for
creating sites. NOTE, however, that it will not allow you to build class
library projects. To do this, you will also need Visual C# 2005 Express or
Visual Basic 2005 Express to create the class libraries. For simple sites,
you do not need this, but I would not get into Enterprise development without
having a product to build class libraries.

Dreamweaver is a better option for ASP.NET 1.1, as is FrontPage 2003. Each
has its pluses and minuses when building ASP.NET applications (FrontPage
Intellisense works with the tags, but not the code, for example, while
Dreamweaver adds its own class libraries for simple stuff, adding weight to
the site (another example)).

In the end, it largely hinges on 1.1 or 2.0 development.
