Hi, all
After I have learnt about XML Web Service, I have questions about deploying
XML Web Service and application that call the XML Web Service. When we
develop windows application or web application that call XML Web Service, we
have to add web reference, right? But now I don't know the way how to build
it to be dynamic. I mean when I deploy my application to another
environment, how can my application know URL of XML Web Service if...

Hi all.
I've created a web service that runs fine on my development PC running W2K.
The service is consumed by an ASPX page. (written using vb.net). I can deploy
the webservice without any issues to another W2K production server and
discover the service from the rebuilt ASPX application (now referencing the
production version). The issue I'm having is that when I deploy to a Windows
Server 2003 environment it doesnt seem to want to work...

It appears that the automatic compilation feature of ASP.NET causes
problems with a security package called Black Ice that my hosting service is
using.
I'm hoping that if I manually compile my web service, I can avoid the
randomly named DLLs that ASP.NET creates when I hit my web service after
FTPing new C# source code.
So I used Visual Studio to create a web service on the remote hosting
service and that worked. However, I would like...

I fairly have my Web Service working the way that I want, so my next step
will be to deploy it on a server. Do I just add a deployment/install
project, build it and install it on the server?
TIA!

OK, I'll admit it up front - I just don't get it.
Here's our previous VS2003 development model. Developers develop the WS
solution on their own workstations, using their own IIS web servers mapped
to the local devleopment folder. Project compiles to a subfolder .\bin. To
deploy, the asmx page and bin subfolder are copied to the production server.
So now I upgrade to VS2005. OK, so except for the name, everything is
changed. No more...

I have create and finished a windows service project.
I test and debug the project in my computer by just rebuild the file,
and so the service is installed in my computer before.
Now, I need to deploy it to the admin computer, but I don't know the
way.
I have tried to copy file in \bin and using command:
installutil <the service file path>
Exception return: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: File or assembly
name XXXXXXXXXXX.exe, or one...

Hello
If someone can help me with this it would be greatly appreciated. I’m no web
service expert but I don't think i'm trying to do anything too special. I
think i must be missing something simple because i have been banging my head
against a wall with this for a while now.
I have created a web service and a client Win forms application to consume
the web service. The problem is i don't know where the web service will be
deployed...

I am trying to deploy a WCF Service on one of our Windows Server 2003
machines so that I can access it from a second machine. I have tried
creating WCF Service library and a WCF Service Application. I have an
asp.net program that uses the service that I have also created. Everything
works fine on my development machine but as soon as I try to deploy the
service on the server I can no longer access it. I have tried accessing it
from a...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
