Is it possible to use PHP to pop a small window to display some quick
information. For example if someone adds an item to a shopping cart, a
small window should pop up, saying the item has been added to the
shopping cart. How does one do this in PHP?
Thank you
John

Can anyone tell me how to open up a new normal, full-sized
browser window from a small popup window?
I'm using something like this.

I want to submit an HTML form and have the reply appear in a small
window that overlays the form window. After the reply is read, the
user should be able to delete the small window, and then directly view
the whole form and resubmit it if desired.
Stated a different way, I'd like the equivalent of a simple dialog box
that the CGI can write into.
So far, about all I've accomplished is to resize the browser window,
then the user has to...

Hi,
I have a page which lists data via asp & database.
Against each record is a text link. This link opens a window, sized by
a Javascript function in the link code.
Problem: All further links from other pages/buttons etc, cause the
pages to be displayed in the same sized window.
How can I close the small window and open the next links in full sized
windows...this is really annoying.

I don't want to use a button...

thanks in advance.

When I try to open a window (this small window is 198x190 in size) through
the MDI menu with:
frm_export frmExport = new frm_export();
frmExport.MdiParent = this;
frmExport.Show();
it opens up as a maximized window. Its FormBorderStyle is FixedSingle. This
only happens when there's another child window open that's in its maximized
state. If the other window's state is not maximized (it's normal or

Hi folks,
this is a resolution-detect script that I used on a site. As you can see it
is designed to detect when the screen resolution falls below a certain level
then load an alternative style sheet HOWEVER, is it possible to make a
change to the code that will not only make it respond to windows with widths
of less than 800 pixels but ALSO heights of less than 600 pixels.
I'm a complete novice when it comes to .js so and help would...

I saw a few posts on this newsgroup about it but nothing to help me resolve
this problem:
We designed a window in .NET on a platform using small fonts (120 ppp). But
this window will run on servers configured with large fonts. For a reason I
cant explain, not only the font changes when settings the window on large
font but all the widgets seem to be resized. This is kind of problematic
because I have to redraw (resize) all the widgets...

I am trying to resize a window to the same size as the DetailView. The
width is just fine, but the height is always slightly too small and I have
to add a constant. I have 4 of these detail views and each one is slightly
too small in height.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
