Hi All,
Is there a way that I can set the startup form to be invisible?

I cant seem to find a straight answer on the following.
I want to programmatically hide all menus except a basic custom report
menu (during report preview) and right click pop-up A-Z sorting on
datasheets (for subforms).
I would like to do this on startup of the application.
To be clear:

I'm using VB.Net 2005 beta 2 and have my login form (login.vb) specified as
the startup form. If the user is successful logging in, I call my main form
(main.vb). This all works fine but the problem is that the login form stays
open. I put a me.close (in the login form) after opening the main form but
that seems to close everything and the main form is not displayed.
I thought I could call a Sub Main() that calls the login form, closes...

I want to pass some startup commands to my application using a shortcut. I have worked out how to do
this no problems at all. I have a module and in it a SUB Main. In Main I do the parsing of the
command line parameters and store what I need.
I the create a new instance of my form that I want by
DIM myForm as New Form1
And then open it by using
myForm.OpenDialog

Hi there,
I have a small app, that copies some files to the server for backup, as soon
as the user exits Windows.
I want this form to startup hidden, so for the user it is not visible and
he/she can't close it.
How do I do this?
thanx,
Alison

Hi everyone,
I have a c# console app that when run through an autorun.inf file, launches
a web page from the CD. It works just fine but I would like the console
window minimized on startup. Currently, the console window displays briefly,
the web page loads, and the console window disappears.
The only line of code currently in the console app is...
System.Diagnostics.Process.Start("blahblahblah.htm")

I'm new to vb.net and was wondering what the syntax is for application
events such as starting up or shutting down. For example, if you would just
like to get a user's name with an input box when they open the app or a
form.
Thanks

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
