Hi All,
Is there a way that I can set the startup form to be invisible?
Many thanks,
Mark 2 1703
Instead of a startup form, create a macro named AutoExec, with the OpenForm
action. In the lower pane of the macro design window, set the Window Mode to
Hidden.
Alternatively, use an unbound form as your startup form. In its Open event
procedure, use OpenForm to open another form hidden, run any initialization
code, and then Cancel this form's Open event (so that the initialization
code is unloaded from memory).

Thanks for taking the time to read my question and hopefully it will
be understandable.
I have a need to read a record in a table and place the information in
public variables that can be used in several forms and reports. Is
this an easy process and how would I do this.
I know how to read the data and place them in the variables but I
can't figure out how to automate this at startup.

I cant seem to find a straight answer on the following.
I want to programmatically hide all menus except a basic custom report
menu (during report preview) and right click pop-up A-Z sorting on
datasheets (for subforms).
I would like to do this on startup of the application.
To be clear:

This is my first shot at a Winforms application in dot net. This application
is mainly going to run unattended but is using a form to display current
activity of the background processing. In VB6, I could set the startup to be
Sub Main and then call frmMain.Show and the program would continue
processing; however, after instantiating the from in VB.Net - dim frmMain as
new frmMain, frmMain.show shows the form then closes the form to continue...

Hi there,
I have a small app, that copies some files to the server for backup, as soon
as the user exits Windows.
I want this form to startup hidden, so for the user it is not visible and
he/she can't close it.
How do I do this?
thanx,
Alison

I'm a long-time VB6 programmer in a shop that is mostly moving to VB
..NET 2005. And I'm confused about coding the start of solutions for
unattended operations.
Much of what I write is old-time batch. Such programs are started from
a scheduler and run on a server, cycling through a mass of data,
without human intervention. No form should show on the server monitor,
although an invisible one may be needed to support the Winsock or...

I have 10 columns total. 3 of them are invisible. The rest are read-
only BoundFields, 3 of which are editable fields using
TemplateFields. Upon editing, I want to validate what the user enters
against one of those invisible columns. How do I accomplish this?
The code below that I attempted just returns an empty string when I
try to retrieve the invisible column data:
gvParts.Rows(e.RowIndex).Cells(8).Text

Hi,
I want to do the following. I want to make a table column invisible
to the screen, but I still want to be able to get the innertext that
would have been stored in the cell for certain operations. What would
be the best way to do this.
I currently added an invisible attribute to the column tag. Please

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
