Wrox rocks... Their "Profession al C#" is excellent. I have many of
their other books for other languages, so I imagine the "Beginning C#"
is pretty good also. I also have "The Complete Reference for C#" which
is ok as a reference but not so good for learning, and Dietel's "C# for
Experienced Programmers" was a big disappointment.

The best C# book I've ever seen is
http://www.murach.com/books/cshp

But note: this is only for beginners!

If you are a REAL beginner, "Programmin g in the Key of C#" by Charles
Petzold is a great start. It will give you a firm grounding in the
language, but sticks to Console applications for the sake of
simplicity. Otherwise, you cannot beat Murach's "C#." Its Windows
program oriented (probably what you want) and covers up to database
programming and a bit beyond. If you are going to buy ONE book, buy
this one.

Would this book still be relevant for version 2.0?

I'm trying to learn wxPython, but I can't seem to find much documentation. The wxPython website says that all advanced (and even some basic) documentation for wxPython is only available in C++ syntax in the main wxWindows documentation. It also says that the samples will help, but I can't seem to make sense of them. Should I just use a not-as-good GUI like Tkinter or a not-as-common one like Anygui or PyUI if I want to have documentation?...

Hello All, I've been compiling a series of pages about the bad functions and mistakes that occur in C into a book, subsequently, I now have a moderate little book of about 32 pages available for download as a PDF file at http://www.pldaniels.com/c-of-peril It's currently still being worked on and I'm always seeking out new examples of C being used poorly or broken standard functions.

The webpages for my new book are now up and running. The book, Basic Algorithms, describes many of the fundamental algorithms used in practical programming, with a bias towards graphics. It includes mathematical routines from the basics up, including floating point arithmetic, compression techniques, including the GIF and JPEG file formats, hashing, red black trees, 3D and 3D graphics, colour spaces, machine learning with neural...

Hi, Im thinking about learning C++ and I have this book called:" C++ programming 3:e edition" by Stephen Prata from 2001 and I was wondering, is that book outdated? These books are kind of expensive so will I be "misinformed" by reading this book and learning from that or is it recommended to buy a new one? Thx!

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
