=========
Many applications today benefit from an SGML and/or XML Entity Catalogue
to dereference entities referenced by a Public Identifier. For a
validating SGML parser this is an absolute requirement. For any
SGML or XML parser it serves to enable entities such as DTDs and
modules to be resolved locally.
Hitherto, different packages and applications have distributed entity

I was reading up on A97 security and found a blurb saying
Microsoft Access provides two traditional methods of securing a
database: setting a password for opening a database, or user-level
security, which can be used to limit what parts of the database the
user can access or change.
Which of these two do I configure to prevent opening the database
unless the correct system database is joined?
This topic came up as a result of another...

Hello All,
I am working in a Windows NT domain environment, working with C#. What
I want to be able to do is view all the groups a user belongs to, and
also be able to add the users to groups.
I want to be able to enter a user name and then get it to diaplay all
the groups this user belongs to. Are the groups a user belongs to
stored as child entries under the user, or are users child entries
under groups, or am I way off track.

Hi,
Anyone there who can give me a jump start for retrieving the groups a user
belongs to???
Since now i tried this but keeps on giving an error on line
(listBox1.Items.Add("Groups to which {0} belongs:"+ oUser.Name);
The oUser object is returning an error " AdsObject <error: an exception of
type: {System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException} occurred>
System.DirectoryServices.Interop.UnsafeNativeMethods.IAds

I found this in a news group and decided to try it. A
little while back, I was browsing through news groups,
just like you are now and came across a message just like
this, that said you could make thousands of dollars within
weeks with only an initial investment of $6.00!!!
So I thought yeah right, this must be a scam!!! But like
most of us, I was curious, so I kept reading. Anyway, it
said that you send $1.00 to each of the 6...

I am starting to translate some code from ASP to ASP.NET (VB). I was able
to query ADS to get a users groups that they belong to, and also query a
group and get a list of users. However, I can't seem to get this to work in
VB.Net. Here's what I have:
OLD ASP Code:
Function Get_ADS_Users_For_Group(ADS_Path)
Dim Group_Information
Dim Error_Number

Evening,
Wondering if someone can point me in the right direction, on how I would
compare a system.guid with a system.byte.
system.guid (pulled from sql server table with a data type of
uniqueidentifier, originally taken from objectGUID from active directory
domain)

Hi,
I'm in the process of updating an ASP.NET v1.1 web app to v2. The app uses
ActiveDirectory a great deal, and I'm trying to use the new
System.Collections.Generic namespace where possible, having been advised by
several luminaries that that is a "good thing to do"... :-)
However, I'm experiencing a problem with the IEnumerable interface. (N.B. I
understand fully that I should be using the LDAP provider instead of the
WinNT provider...

I am using this code to get groups for a user and getting a error (5) on the
GetAuthorizationGroups() function .
There are two domains.
This function works on the local domain but does not work on the other domain.
Other functions work on the other domain like get all the users and get all
the groups and I can validate users on the other domain so I think I am
communciating with the other domain OK just not with the...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
