Viewing and adding users to groups in Windows NT

Hello All,

I am working in a Windows NT domain environment, working with C#. What
I want to be able to do is view all the groups a user belongs to, and
also be able to add the users to groups.

I want to be able to enter a user name and then get it to diaplay all
the groups this user belongs to. Are the groups a user belongs to
stored as child entries under the user, or are users child entries
under groups, or am I way off track.

I have no problems listing all the users, and all the groups, I can
also add, delete and edit users and groups, just can't find what
groups a user belongs to.

If I use this
DirectoryEntry groups = new DirectoryEntry( "WinNT://ARGPDC/R OWA
Access,group");

to find a group, am I able to determine what users belong to it from
this?

Please let me know if I have explained myself clearly and if more
information is needed.

Thanks

James

Hello, I am working on a document management system for a client. I am planning to set up the system so that documents are protected, sort of.. A user has an access level and based on that access level, a list of available documents will display as an HTML page and the user can click a hyperlink to download or view the selected document. I am planning to handle this all through a SQL database and ASP..

I have a one-line script to add an onunload event handler to the body of the document. The script is as follows: document.getElementsByTagName("BODY").onunload=function s() {alert("s")} Now obviously, I put the alert("s") part in for debugging purposes, just to make sure the error wasn't in any code I was going to be running. This line works just fine in IE6 but in Firefox it doesn't. However, if I replace that line with the...

I have a Back End database (split) that is on a smokin' hot machine (dual processor, 2 gig RAM, XP Pro SP2) and I'm getting an error that says the database (back end file) is "opened exclusively" by someone else. I looked at the number of sessions and noticed that when the number of sessions were at 10, any new user launching the front end would get the "exclusive" error message. There is no security in place and no login required.

Hello Experts.. Im checking out the other side of the tracks here.. always been a Systems Analyst kind of guy. Developers are a touchy and unpredictible lot. I try to give them their space and never poke my finger into their cages. I was sad that Steve Erwin didn't do a spot on Developers before he left us.. Anyway.. Figured I'd be doing pretty good for myself if I could find some assistance here, then back out before I got eaten alive. ...

Foreword: Our Sharepoint site runs off both Forms Based and Windows Authentication. That being said some users have dual accounts for both methods of authentication...but not all users. Each account has unique ID's but runs off different SSPs. Problem: Currently working on a tool that one piece (the one I need help with) is having issues adding users to a specified SharePoint group. I am getting a legitimate SPUser but when I try to add...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
