Label.AutoSize = true : Application.Idl e --> Bug?

Hi NG

i try to catch the Application.Idl e Event:
--> Application.Idl e += new EventHandler(On Idle);

Here's my problem:

If i put a Label on my Form and set the Property AutoSize = true then
the Eventhandler OnIdle never occurs! If the Property AutoSize is set
to false the OnIdle - Handler will be called...

Is this a Bug? Does a Workaround exists?

Thanks Samuel

I tried it here and it works fine with just an autosize label placed on
the form.
Try it with a new blank solution and see if you can replicate it.

Hello: I am trying to use Autosize=true on a long string and it extends off of my form, rather than increasing the number of lines of the Label as the documentation says it should do. Would anyone know what other property I need to set to get this to work properly? I have looked through them all and cant find any. PreferredHeight is read only.

I want to log the user out when there has been a period of inactivity in the application. The key here is inactivity of the application, not the system. I know that you can retrieve the inactivity of the system via GetLastInputInfo. That's not what I want - I want inactivity of the application. Thanks.

Hello, I have a dozen 3rd party controls on my form. I am trying to detect when the application is idle. But even after the mouse and the keyboard are no longer moving, something is still triggering the Application.Idle event. There are no Timers on the form (i removed them all after realizing that WM_TIMER message will cause the event to fire). Anyway, how can I figure out which control is triggering the application_idle event? ...

Hi All, What do you know about the Application.Idle event? When is it a good practice to use it and when should I not use it? I know it fires when the app message queue is empty, and that this happens a lot. But if I register many handlers on this event, what impact will it have on my application? Is it true to say that it doesn't impact my application performances becuase the queue is empty anyhow? Thanks!

Label label = new Label(); label.Width = 1; label.AutoSize = true; label.Text = "A long string, requiring a width larger than 1."; //At this point, Width is still 1. What am I missing? Shouldn't AutoSize adjust the "Size" "Auto"matically to fit the string?

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
