Hello to all,
I'm trying to get binaries for Ming but can't find them FOR PYTHON...
Yes I know its a PHP group, but i believe someone as made a binary of
Ming that is symbolically linked to PHP on Windows. Please don't
bother telling me to use "the right tool for the right job, that is
PHP (since it works there)" type of response. I'm sure PHP is great
and all that but I really need a hand here ion compiling ...

I'm confused about what I can use C# and VS.NET for.
I have both Visual Studio 6.0 and Visual Studio .NET - which one do I use?
If I want to build a basic VB app, I assume I can use the VB 6 component in
Visual Studio 6.0. But If I want to build a C# application - does that mean
I have to use VS.NET? And if I do write an application in C# does that mean
it can only run on a Windows box with the .Net Framework? Do all C# apps
require...

I was creating test projects using c# and was surprised that there seems to
be only a form based windows applications available. Is it safe to assume
that classic window applications that utilize a parent window with child
windows can only be done in c++ and mfc and there's nothing else in .net
that is meant to be used like that?
It seems to be that c# should be used for either form based windows apps,
console apps, and web apps (also...

I need some help.
I am trying to set up our development environment so as to make life
easy for my fellow developers (none of whom have used ASP.NET or
VS.NET before). We are developing our intranet which will comprise
basic content with a number of small data-driven ASP.NET applications.
I need to keep things simple, so I need to avoid stuff which needs too
much in-depth knowledge to work.

In vs.net 2005 you can build the entire website, entire solution or a single
page. The project I am working on has more than 1000 pages spread over 50-60
directories. We work on one or two of the directories most of the time.
When an external dependency is changed (say a function in business layer),
we have to compile the entire web project, which takes a lot of time because
vs.net compiles all 60 directories.
What is need is an option...

Can anyone shed some light on why compiling and running web-apps is so slow
in VS2005. I have a solution with 3 web-apps, 20 or so library projects and
several winforms apps. All in all it totals about 150,000 lines of C#.
I've only just converted this to VS2005 project but am frustrated with the
following:
- VS2005 insists on compiling all projects when I press F5 to run an
application even though no code has changed in the other...

With .net having been around for a while now, does anyone know what the
uptake of major software houses is in using .net for Windows Application
development? e.g. have the likes of Adobe, MS, Corel, etc actually released
any applications that use the framework?

Hi
I browsed the archives, but since some messages date back a bit, I
wanted to make sure that
- py2exe is still the best tool in town to compile Python scripts to
run on a Windows host that doesn't have Python installed, including
wxWidgets/wxPython
- there's no way to build a single EXE, to make deployment easier (if

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
