I'm looking to place an icon for my app on the Navigation Pane (lower right
of task bar), yet haven't been able to find any information on how to do
this. The app basically is a running file watcher that fires off a routine
when a file appears in a specific folder. I want the icon on the Navigation
Pane to show the user it is running but don't want the program to be
minimized with an icon on the task bar (similar to SQL Server icon in
navigation bar, or clock, or whatever). I know it's possible as other
programs use this feature. Can someone point me to the correct information
source to do this?
Thanx,

In my application, I'm going to have a navigation pane (i.e. frames) on the
left that links to pages that display in the main window. The list of
choices varies by user, but once a user logs in, it is always the same list.
I'm going to arrange this pane as a hierarchical list of headings,
subheadings, and links, i.e. something like:
Number Theory Tools
Euclid's GCD Algorithm
Continued Fraction Expansion of a Rational Number

I've been looking and maybe I've missed something but is there a way
to undock the navigation pane or at least not have it "always on top"
in design view? I realize it can be minimized, but having to do this
all the time to reclaim my screen real estate in design view seems
very counterproductive.

I have set the Navigation Pane so that it is not displayed on startup
of my application. However, if I programmatically link to an external
Access table, the navigation pane automatically reappears. Is there
any way to avoid this? I am using the code below to link the external
table.
DoCmd.TransferDatabase A_ATTACH, "Microsoft Access", sourceDBName,
A_TABLE, sourceTableName, destTableName

Microsoft Windows XP Professional.
When I click on MY Docs shortcut which is on my desktop, or any other
shortcut, which are usually to folders on network, there is only one window
pane, the details pane showing. I then have to click on the ‘folders’ icon on
the top bar to see two windows. Is there a way to force two windows ie left
(navigation) and right (details) pane to open each time

I'm a student trying to teach myself to use access. I somehow managed
to minimize my navigation pane and now I can't figure out how to
reopen it. The Access handbook says that, even when minimized, it
should appear as a thin strip on the side, but it doesn't. Is there
any other way I can open the navigation pane?

I posted a different question (Help with non-static/static problem) which was answered. I changed my inner class to a static nested class, but now I cannot create an object using that class and add it to the JTabbedPane. I get a 'cannot find symbol' error, and it points to the pane.addTab method. The program works fine when I remove the nested class and make it a separate class, then instantiate it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
