What does this socket report indicate?

jm
I have a program listening on a socket and one sending data to that
socket.

The program sending the data to the listener was periodically giving
me errors that the listener didn't have a socket. I waited a little
bit, seconds to minutes and tried again and it worked.

I went to the PC listening and issued netstat -a. I found the
LISTENING socket. But I found a bunch of open ports (all the same as
the listening port.) The listener shows a MessageBox based upon data
I send the listener. After I closed all the boxes, netstat -a showed.
What is this telling me. Thank you:

LISTENING <-it is listening (see the others below, I sent a lot of
test)

From MSDN dox: WinSock select(): For connection-oriented sockets, readability can also indicate that a request to close the socket has been received from the peer. If the virtual circuit was closed gracefully, and all data was received, then a recv will return immediately with zero bytes read. ..NET Socket.Select(): Readability can also indicate whether the remote Socket has shut down

Is it safe to call socket.BeginSendTo and socket.BeginSendFrom on a single instance of Socket from two different threads running simultaneously? This is required because I need to listen on a certain URI and I need to send outgoing messages from that local socket something like this: public class Communicator { Socket skt = new Socket(AddressFamily.InterNetwork,

in March, i posted a essay “What is Expressiveness in a Computer Language”, archived at: http://xahlee.org/perl-python/what_is_expresiveness.html I was informed then that there is a academic paper written on this subject. On the Expressive Power of Programming Languages, by Matthias Felleisen, 1990. http://www.ccs.neu.edu/home/cobbe/pl-seminar-jr/notes/2003-sep-26/expressive-slides.pdf

Here are three network-related exceptions. These were caught by "except" with no exception type, because none of the more specific exceptions matched. This is what a traceback produced: 1. File "D:\Python24\lib\socket.py", line 295, in read data = self._sock.recv(recv_size) timeout: timed out

Hello, I have a report that I open that pull its data from a form that builds a where string. Opening the report first opens the form, where I enter criteria, and then pulls matching records from a table, opens the report, and closes the form. The code on the report is below. I used this code on a similar report that also pulled its data from a form (the difference was that that form supplied criteria to an actual query - my new form...

In your original code, you had a client which repeatedly established out- bound connections. Here, you say you need to listen on a port. The basic version is pretty easy either way. Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
