lockup problems

Hi,

My application has a location that the debugger can't step through, and
that locks the program up when running outside the debugger. I have tried
moving code blocks but haven't been able to make any sense out of it.

There is another problem that causes the Win Forms of my application to
suddenly disappear, and also their icons on the taskbar. The program is
still running, but when I try Just-In-Time Debugging the debugger displays
("Wait for the Debugger to finish loading" when I try to Pause the program;
so I can't see what's going on. Some times screwing around in Windows
causes the Win Forms to reappear, for instance plugging in a memory stick.

These problem are with 2003 Enterprise, they appear to be fixed in 2005
Beta, but my application is for the DOD and beta software is not allowed.
Is there an ETA for the removal of the word "beta"?

Thanks,

Mark,

Without seeing your code, it's very hard to determine what the source of
the problem could be.

As for the removal of the word beta, there is no set timeline, but I
would expect sometime in the first half of 2005.

Hope this helps.

I have written a COM dll using vc++ and ATL. I am using this dll from an application written in VB. When the VB application finishes with the object it sets the object = nothing. Somewhere between my objects destructor, and the vb setting the object to nothing, the dll will lockup. To ensure that it's not my code that's locking up, I inserted a message box at the very beginning of the object's destructor. This message box doesn't come...

Hi all, Hoping someone can help us with this strange Innodb problem. At about 5:15 AM 2/2/04 (this morning), our slave server stopped accepting connections. The machine was pingable, but you could not SSH into the machine. We had to manually reboot the machine, and restart the slave. Looking in the error file we found this:

Are you up to speed on the difficulties in using the 1.1 .Net framework? Not if you are unaware of the 1,596 issues listed at KBAlertz (http://www.kbalertz.com/technology_3.aspx). If you are going to use .Net......I highly recommend signing up for the free KBAlertz newsletter at http://www.kbalertz.com/default.aspx. Looking at all of the errors and quirks sometimes makes me wonder if this thing is really ready for prime time.

This works: db2 SELECT DISTINCT PROBLEM_OBJECTS.PROBLEM_ID FROM PROBLEM_OBJECTS INNER JOIN PROBLEMS ON PROBLEM_OBJECTS.PROBLEM_ID = PROBLEMS.PROBLEM_ID WHERE INTEGER(DAYS(CURRENT DATE) - DAYS(PROBLEMS.CLOSE_DATE)) = 365 AND PROBLEMS.CLOSE_DATE IS NOT NULL But this doesn't: db2 SELECT DISTINCT PROBLEM_OBJECTS.PROBLEM_ID FROM PROBLEM_OBJECTS

Got a site where we are still running the front end and back end on an older machine under access 97 plus a new machine using XP as the front end. Only installed the XP version yesterday. Client is reporting a one off complete lockup of the 97 machine this morning (sounds like it happened when the XP machine looked at it). They are back up and running happily at this moment.

We just recently moved one of our major c# apps from VS Net 2002 to VS Net 2003. At first things were looking ok, now problems are starting to appear. So far ... Below are 2 files that isolate the problem. Note, both programs hang (stop responding) with hyper-threading turned on (a BIOS setting), but work as expected with hyper-threading turned off. Note, the Windows task manager shows 2 CPUs on the Performance tab with hyper-threading is turned on. Both Python 2.3.5 and 2.4.3 (downloaded from python.org) have this problem. The operating system is MS Windows XP Professional.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...
