Amazon wins patent for ordering forms
# 6,615,226 http://tinyurl.com/m7v8
http://news.com.com/2100-1017-5070569.html
In its latest patent, the online retailing giant outlined a method for
expanding portions of the ordering form, then collapsing that portion of the
form and removing the data fields. The content for that particular section
of the form would then be displayed again.

Is there a control for Windows Forms that will display HTML (from either a
variable or a stored file) as it would appear in a browser window?
I'm trying to create a Windows Form that includes a Tab control with two
tabs. One tab includes a text box, and the other should include the control
I'm looking for. When the form is opened, I want to pass a string variable
containing HTML source text and fill both controls, so I can switch back and...

Note: There is considerable background detail here, but I do have
three questions, which are clearly marked and appear right before the
sample code.
I have a legitimate need to launch an EXE from an HTML page on Windows
XP/Internet Explorer. The EXE is already locally installed, and the
HTML page is also viewed locally on the PC- it's not a web site. I
know of two ways to do this, both of which are featured in the sample
HTML file at...

I've written quite a bit of early php code, but nothing really web and database-specific (more like administrative and maintenance stuff for LINUX), but now I need to develop some serious web applications. Since I wanted to be portable, I installed Apache, MySQL and PHP5 on one of my Windows XP laptops.
I'm having problems: First, I can't find a REALLY good editor for php on Windows. If anyone out here knows of a really good editor I would be...

I just realized that the code I inherited is using all asp.net server
controls (ie. webform controls) and when I try to update textboxes on the
client side, I lose the new value of the textbox when submitting the form to
update the database. The server doesn't have the client side value any more.
It seems to me that as I begin to write the client side javacript code for
form validation and client side editing capabilities in order to save...

This IDE is driving me nuts. I needed another button so I copied an
existing one, changed the Text and the id and position by drag and drop.
Well then I run and get the following:
Control 'Button19' of type 'Button' must be placed inside a form tag with
runat=server
Can the IDE not do what it is supposed to do. It seems that it is a fight
to make it do anything or did I do something wrong? It would seem silly to
have to create a...

I have an aspx page with a data grid, some textboxes, and an update button.
This page also has one html input element with type=file (not inside the data
grid and runat=server).
The update button will verify the information that has been entered and
updates the data base if the data is correct. Update will throw an exception
if the data is not validate based on some given rules. I also have a custom
error handling page to show the...

I have a vb.net page that uses a form as below:
<form id="Visual" name="Visual" method="post" runat="server">
If I run this on my Windows XP development PC then the HTML generated from
it is:
<form name="Visual" method="post" action="Salesreport.aspx?Index=7"
language="javascript" onsubmit="javascript:return WebForm_OnSubmit();"

(originally mis-posted on m.p.s.jscript...)
I've just closed all windows in Firefox and its using 244MB of memory.
I have no idea why. I had GMail open, a page from unicode, the CLJ FAQ.
I've noticed that createElement leaks. It's obvious with form controls
because the form keeps the control name as a property.
Example:

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
