dataset datarelation returns null, causing program to bomb--help!

I'm new to C# and using a dataset for the first time. I'm trying to
establish a relationship between 2 tables in the dataset (for a
treeview I plan to use), but the statement below bombs because
ds.Tables ["SubCategor ies"].Columns ["Category_I D"]) returns null.
Any idea what is wrong?

ds.Relations.Ad d ("CategoryID ",
ds.Tables ["Categories "].Columns ["id"],
ds.Tables ["SubCategor ies"].Columns ["Category_I D"]);
Here is the table structure:

ID
SubCategory
SubCategory_ID

There are 5 records in the table.
Thanks for any info.

Hi, I am using Xalan 1.8.0 and Xerces 2.6.0 in C++. I have an XML document which I first transform into an other XML document using an XSL styelsheet. Then I want to parse with XPathEvaluator the new XML document. I succeed in transforming, also in parsing with the XPathEvaluator. But I can not get any nodeValue, getNodeValue() returns NULL.

I am using MSVC .NET to create a C program. I am having trouble creating a window. The createwindow returns NULL however no error is caught. The GetLastError() returns "operation completed successfully". So I'm not sure what the deal is. CreateWindow doesn't have to be called from the main function does it? WNDCLASSEX wc = { sizeof(WNDCLASSEX), CS_CLASSDC, MsgProc, 0, 0, GetModuleHandle(NULL), NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, ...

This is causing me to not be able to create a relation in my dataset. Here's my code: dc1 = ds.Tables .Columns ; dc2 = ds.Tables .Columns ; dr1 = new System.Data.DataRelation ("categories2subcategories", dc1, dc2); ds.Relations.Add (dr1); dc1 always works fine. dc2 always returns null. There ARE records in

I have an unmanaged C++ ray tracer which I am working to put a C# front end on. It runs fine as just the unmanaged code. I have made a MC++ wrapper DLL to expose the required types to the C# project. Things seem to be getting through from the unmaged side to the managed side - the image is being rendered correctly. However, at random points, calls to new are returning null. Hence, when the managed type gets destroyed and calls delete on its...

Hi All, I have encountered problems with JS RegExp.exec() and can't find what is the problem. Could you help me? formRequest is a function that extracts some information from XMLHTTPRequest response. A very strange effect (and I can't find where I've done something wrong) is that regexp matches in this function fail on every second call.

Suppose I have implemented a language with garbage collection in C. I have wrapped malloc in my own C function. If malloc returns NULL then I can run the garbage collector and then try malloc again. What do I do if malloc returns NULL again? Can a C program ask the operating system for more space and then I could try malloc a third time? Thanks, Peter

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
