Hi,
Does anybody know the fastest way to trigger a DrawingArea redaw in
pygtk? At the moment, I'm using a bit of a hack:
def redraw(self):
self.area.hide()
self.area.show()
Is there a better way to trigger a redraw? This causes flickering when

I'm having a strange problem with a VB.NET App, and the built in
Windows.Forms.Datagrid
I have a tabbed interface, and a DataGrid (along with other controls) on
each of my two Tabs.
If the Datagrid on my first Tab has a horizontal scrollbar automatically
drawn because the table is too wide, and I switch to the other tab and
resize the form, when I switch back to the first tab, the horizontal
scrollbar on the datagrid is in the same...

I'm just learning Python, so bear with.
I was messing around with the webbrowser module and decided it was
pretty cool to have the browser open a URL from within a python script,
so I wrote a short script to open a local file the same way, using the
script file as an example target:
# browser-test.py
import webbrowser
import sys

Hi all.
I have just added translucency to one of my applications using the
layered windows API, but I have come across a redraw problem.
Unfortunately, I cant reproduce this in a standalone app but I'll try
and explain what's happening.
When a form is obscured when it is resized or made "visible" (I show
some other forms on restore), it seems to remember that visibility

Hi guys
I am developing a program which draws stuff on the screen (outside of the
form).
For this I use the GetDC function of user32.dll to get a handle to the
desktop, and then use GDI+ to draw. So far so good.
The problem is that before drawing, I have to erase what I had previously
drawn. I tried using the InvalidateRect API function, without luck.
I get this error when I run the program:

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
