Pretty UI in C# Continued! (This time using vector graphics)

I'm also interested in finding out more about using vector graphics when
designing the UI in Windows forms applications. I know a lot about GDI+ and
raster graphics, but vector graphics is a new subject for me. I'm also
preparing for Avalon and I've stumbled upon this in the meantime which seems
to be a pretty good idea of what Avalon will be like when it comes out:

VG.NET: (Animated Vector Graphics for Visual Studio)
http://www.vgdotnet.com/

I can work with VG.NET a little, but where can I find a good demo or
tutorial on using vector graphics either in VG.NET or Avalon to create a
FULL interface with form components and icons? How do you effectively mix
vector graphics with raster graphics and form components? What are some good
practices to use and some design tips? Is there a tutorial out there that
goes beyond drawing a rectangle or Hello World on the screen and
demonstrates grouping shapes together to create a reusable visual component
in a class that also handles mouse, key events and Windows messages?
Inquiring minds want to know!

Thanks again in advance. Sorry for all the questions.

Hi all I wonder if there is really no way to pretty print a DOM, using Java's standard API (http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/api/index.html). What I've tried is (assume having a org.w3c.dom.Document instance doc): TransformerFactory tf = TransformerFactory.newInstance(); Transformer transformer = tf.newTransformer();transformer.setOutputProperty(OutputKeys.METHOD, "xml");transformer.setOutputProperty("encoding", encoding);

Hello, Most XML examples have the content neatly laid out with newlines and indenting. A DOM parser, however, does not bother with such niceties when creating an XML file. Is there a "pretty printer" function somewhere that makes XML easier to read by adding the indenting? -- jmm dash list (at) sohnen-moe (dot) com (Remove .AXSPAMGN for email)

How do they do it? http://home.nycap.rr.com/foryorisonly/spoof.htm It doesn't matter where the browser is when opened. But if the browser is minimazed then it jumps to (0,0) of the screen. -- George Hester __________________________________

Does a Java "pretty formatter" exist? I would like to use a Python based web building tool but would like to pretty format Java code (for example adding color to keywords, etc). I haven't managed to find one but have probably been looking in the wrong places.

Does anyone know of a good, free C# pretty-printer? One that outputs to HTML would be good. If it came with C# source it would be even better.

Nothing drives me crazier than having to look at someone's code where the indentation is sloppy. Some lines are indented 2 spaces, others 10 spaces. Sometimes there's 10 blank lines between lines of code, others times there's none. Sometimes there are spaces around boolean operators, sometimes not. Slopy, sloppy, sloppy! I try to get people to be neat and consistant, but it doesn't help. Call me anal but I think neat code is a sign or...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
