Would anyone like to comment on the following idea?
I was just going to offer it as a new PEP until it was suggested that
I post it here for comment & consideration against PEP 308.
I'm far from being a "language internist" (on Python or anything else)
so go easy on me if this is stupid - it just seemed quite elegant to
me as a relative newbie in town :-)
I also havent got a clue whether this would be easy or even possible

Consider this code (.Net 2.0) which uses a nullable type:
private void button1_Click(object sender, System.EventArgs e)
{
DateTime? nullableDate;
nullableDate = (condition) ? null : DateTime.Now;
}
When the condition is false, I want to return null. If true, I want to
return the current date/time.

Hi,
Does using the the conditional operator (?:) instead of the common "if"
statement will give a performance gain in a C# .NET 2003 application
(even in C# .NET 2005?).
What is the advantage of using it in C# other than typing shorter if ?
Thanks,
Marty

Can anyone please tell me how the C language interprets the following
code:
#include <stdio.h>
int main(void)
{
int a = 1;
int b = 10;
int x = 3;

All my python books and references I find on the web have simplistic
examples of the IF conditional. A few also provide examples of multiple
conditions that are ANDed; e.g.,
if cond1:
if cond2:
do_something.
However, I cannot find, nor create by trial-and-error, the syntax for
alternative conditions that are ORed; e.g.,

I was just thinking that I understood the conditional operator when I coded
the following expecting it to fail:
int a= 10, b= 20, c= 0;
((a < b) ? a : b) = c; // a=0
a=20; b= 10;
((a < b) ? a : b) = c; //b=0
Now since the expresion 5 = c is not valid I did not expect the above to
work. But it does work. Why? I thought that the ?: operator would evaluate

Hi All,
I have one question regarding the conditional operator.
In the draft C99 standard it is mentioned that
"1 The following are the sequence points described in 5.1.2.3:
-- The call to a function, after the arguments have been evaluated
(6.5.2.2).
-- The end of the first operand of the following operators: logical AND
&& (6.5.13);

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
