WinApp DataGrid COlumn AutoWidth

Hi,

Is it possible to adjust a column width of a datagrid column in a WinApp? I
know how to do that in a WebApp, but a WinApp is still a problem for me. Do
we have this method/property to activate an autowidth feature?

Thanks,
Dmitri

Hi Dmitri,

Winforms datagrid contains a set of styles, which are stored in a collection of DataGridTableSt yle's. From that, you could obtain the DataGridColumnS tyle for the required column you need. Set the Width property of this object to the value you want.

There is no Autowidth property there, am I right?

Hi, In a running C# app with a datagrid control I select all rows in the dataGrid using CTRL-A, I then paste into some other app like notepad or Word but the column headings get left off. Is there any way of including column headings when copying/pasting from a running datagrid to notepad? At this stage it looks like I have to write my own code but would rather not if someone knows how to do it.

Hi, I've just started using the datagrid and I have a few questions on it... 1. How do you autosize the columns to fit the content programmatically? When you double click between two columns you'll get the left one autosized to it's content, I want to do that when I load the grid with data. 2. How do you sort the grid using a command button? When you click the column header you will get the grid sorted in ascending/descending order, my...

Hi Folks, I'm adding some columns to my datagrid which are of Combo Box type. I'm inheriting DataGridTextBoxColumn and doing all the usual stuff to get them populated. This is working fine. I have added some functionality where if the user right clicks the combobox a context menu will appear, saying "Fill the complete column with value 'XXX'". This value is the value they selected from the combobox. This is also working fine. However,...

I have a datatable as the datasource to a datagrid. The datagrid has a datagridtablestyle defined. I use the datagridtablestyle to change the order of the columns (so they can be different than the column order of the datatable). I also allow the user to click on a column header to sort the datagrid by that column. I need to identify the row and column in the datatable when the user clicks on a cell in the datagrid. Using the...

I have a nested datagrid in a xaml file, the parent datagrid loads the vendor information and the details loads the documents for that vendor in a datagrid. Everything is working fine until I click in the child datagrid and then go to the combobox and choose another vendor. When the new vendor is loaded nothing shows in the datagrid but the itemsource shows the info is there. Know if I click on the child cell and then click back on the...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
