Hello,
I had a strange problem when freezing (using either py2exe or McMillan
installer) a script that imports reportlab (which imports PIL (which
imports FixTk))).
- Python 2.3.3c (also with Python 2.3)
- PIL 1.1.4
- Installer or py2exe : latest versions.

Hi All,
I have to avoid cyclic reference in my DLLS. One way is to move the code to
the common DLL. But now since i have written a lot of code, it would take a
whole lot of time to do this. The other way i see is to link file to the DLL.
But i have some doubts about taking this approach.
1. Since all my DLLs are on the same server now, its not a problem but what
if later i try to seperate out this DLLs on different servers for load...

I have uncovered an interesting problem with resource only DLLs. If I
create a project with a long name and the name includes periods ("."), the
IDE will fail to kick off the linker. The resource compiler seems to
successfully compile the .rc to a .res, but the linker never fires up. If I
force a link, the DLL will be created but will contain no resources.
An example project name that fails to link is...

Hi,
I am trying to use PlaySound in a VC++.net Windows app (VS 2003). I can use
it to play a file but now I want to play it from a resource. I have two
questions:
How do I add a wav file to my project as a resource (steps please)
How do I call PlaySound once that I have the wav file as part of the resource.

Hello friends,
In a large asp.net project, I don't think it is a good idea for having one
common resource file containing all localized strings for the whole
application. I think a better approach would be to have individual resx
files for each form/user control.
My main problem is having difficulties in naming my resource file.
For example, suppose I have a web form called Items.aspx. I want to have a
resource file for it and name it...

Hi,
is it possible to implement custom resource managers for ASP.NET 2.0 so
that strings can be read from a database (for example)?
Ideally, it should be possible to configure the custom resource manager
in web.config, so that it replaces the default resource manager. Using
the <%$ ... %> syntax should read the strings via the custom resource
manager, e.g. when used like this:

In an ASP.NET project I am setting the content type of my .ascx and
..aspx files to Embedded Resource for a separate reason. When I do this
they get embedded as "RootNamespace.Filename" but I would like them to
be embedded as "RootNamespace.Folder.Filename".
I see that the .resources files are embedded with the containing folder
information in the namespace, and I think c# projects work this way,
too. Is there any way (a vbc command...

Hi!
I'm currently developing a DLL that makes use of C++ and .net (mixed) using
Visual Studio 2003.
Now, as I wanted to move to the new Visual Studio 2005, I converted this
project into the new format (compiling with /clr:OldSyntax): everything works
and compiles fine.
Unfortunately, I cannot link to the newly created DLL from any other
application/DLL: LNK2019: unresolved external symbol. I've checked the DLL

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
