developing the point of sales system, and I need set up the printer
device font(not true type font), so that i could control the cash
drawer and printer itself, so, if you could tell me how to and solve
the problem, I will pay you $50

chunming,

If you are doing this, then you will have to use the same functions that
you would use in an unmanaged application. You would have to call these API
functions through the P/Invoke layer.

Hope this helps.

I found out that VB.Net supports only TrueType and OpenType fonts, in other words, it doesn't load printer fonts (device fonts) that are associated with a printer. I'm writing an application that will print to a POS printer and I would like to use its printer fonts for barcode printing. Is there a way I could load those printer/device fonts in my code? -- Anson

Hi, I?m currently developing a POS application in VB.NET. I want the user to be able to connect any kind of POS printer (available on the market). I have tried printing the ordinary .NET way e.Graphics.DrawString(...) but it seems it cannot parse the special control characters that I want to use. I have used Epsons OPOS Ocx (which works fine) but it?s not generic like I want it (too much hustle for the user to set up the device) I want...

I am converting an old application that was printing directly to a specialized printer device (i.e. a special label printer). It was doing this by opening a file with the file path of 'LPT1:' and then using PRINT # to print directly to the printer device. Obviously, this is not going to work under VB.NET - StreamWriter won't let you open a device like LPT1: and such. I assume I am going to have to switch to the System.Drawing.Printing...

The problem is that when choosing the correct paper 72mm X receipt, Access comes up with an error telling me that the paper is to large. When choosing 72mm X 200mm It prints the receipt but cuts it at 200mm. Can anybody help?

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
