Default printer settings

Hi,

I'm using a control that can print itself using the default printer. I want
to change the default "Print Portrait" to "landscape" just before I call my
control.print() method.

How can I do this? I've checked the print dialog, but it really doesn't
seem to be what I'm looking . The control I'm using doesn't give me a
document object, it just prints using the local clients printer settings.
So i figure if I can change the default printer settings before I print, I
can change them back after the print job is done.

Any help is appreciated.

Best regards,

Marco

My program right now generates USPS style shipping label using System.Drawing.Graphics. It works fine except that the printer prints really slowly. I want to make my program take advantage of true type fonts. So I assume it's possible to send Font Type and the text to the printer, and the printer should digest and print faster. Still, barcode info needs to be sent as an image. When I print fifty copies of the same label it prints really...

Hi there, I have created an Access 2002 db which contains several reports. Some reports need to be printed on a Laserjet and others on a Labelprinter. One of my clients wants to be able to print the same reports to 3 different laserjets and to 3 different labelprinters. (They work with the db on 3 different units each with their own Laserjet and Labelprinter) For each unit there is a copy of all the reports. The client can make a unit...

Hi All, In an Acces97 application I have a report which in design mode I set the right/left print margins to 0.5" The report, for several user now does not print using the default values that were set in the report but instead, is now printing the report using the default setting that are set at the PC level(1.5" and 1.5") which messes up the report to an un-readable state because of warp-around. This just started recently, before the...

Hello, You can use the PrintDocument component to use the default printer. If you don't specify a printer to the PrintDocument object, by default, it will use the default printer. This is a sample code; private void print_Click(object sender, System.EventArgs

Hello, My goal is the properties settings of the default network printer by vba ( or vb code). In my case properties duplex/simplex. With the winspool.dll. This works fine if there the default printer has alocal port installed. If I want to set the duplex property of a network printer without local port installed it went wrong. In the step: nRet = SetPrinter(hPrinter, 2, yPInfoMemory(0), 0) If (nRet = 0) Then ...

Greetings all! My problem is this. I've installed a new printer on my computer. This is the "default printer" for access. Now, some of my reports, which were working fine with the old printer, are now showing up with an odd view (very enlarged) in preview. If I go to page setup, and choose specific printer to then look at the paper size listed in my default printer, it shows Hegaki Card 100mmX148mm instead of letter. It seems as...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
