RichTextBox cannot detect Ctrl + Tab?

I have a RichTextBox with AcceptsTab set to true. When Ctrl is held
down, pressing Tab does not trigger KeyPress or KeyDown/Up events.

If AcceptsTab is false, the RichTextBox never knows if Tab or Shift +
Tab is pressed.

btw, KeyPreview does not help either...

Anyone has an idea?

I'm using a richTextBox for editing a source code (with Syntax Highlighting) of my own programming language... How come that myRichTextBox doesn't respond to Undo/Redo functions by using default shortcut keys, or even programaticaly (by using Button_onClick event)? if(myRichTextBox.CanUndo == true) { myRichTextBox.Undo(); }

Hello and thank you for reading this post. I have a RichTextBox. I need to select text inside for a search feature. Easy enough... right? Well apparently from the .NET help and everything from the net, there is nothing describing how to do a top level select that I can find (ie like how to select or highlight programitcally like a user highlights text from any window). Here is my code:

Hello All, First, I apologize for posting this to so many newsgroups but I wasn't sure which newsgroup was most appropriate nor which newsgroup would most likely have subscribers that have done this or would have the answer. That said, below is a description of my problem: If I create a standard Windows executable in C# or VB.Net and place a RichTextBox control on the main form, the control captures standard shortcut keys as expected...

When I use ctrl-c to copy and ctrl-v to paste from a RichTextBox into NotePad ... I get nice ASCII text with the proper returns. Everything looks good. When I paste into WordPad ... I get the RichText font attributes and paragraph formatting as seen in the RichTextBox. Again, everything looks good. Trying to do the above programmatically is causing me problems. The text is there, but in NotePad the returns are absent and the square...

Hi all! I'm getting in some trouble with Drag and Drop operations. I have a RichTextBox inside a Form. I want to allow text moving inside the RichTextBox itself, which is achieved by simply enabling the EnableAutoDragDrop property... On the other hand, when dragged text comes from an external application (or another component in my app) I want to apply some extra formatting (put the dropped text in bold for example), or simply not allow...

Hello, I have hosted the windows user control (which has one richtextbox) on web page. When I type the keys such as Ctrl+O on it the open window pops up and the control (i.e. richtextbox) is not receiving that character. Same with some other shortcut keys such as Ctrl+P, Ctrl+A and so on. Can anybody please give me the solution for it.?? The control should receive such characters when typed on it on web page. Thanks in advance.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
