Timothy,

You will have to call the InternetDial or the InternetAutoDia l function
in the WinInet library though the P/Invoke layer.

Hope this helps.

Hi, I'm writing an application that needs to know if an Internet connection is available. Basically, I want to have something similar to what a lot of email clients have, where the app can work either in "online" or "offline" mode (it keeps a cache of downloaded info, so it can work without a connection if needed). The basic problem is this: it downloads info (RSS feeds) from a variety of sources. Any one (or more) of these could...

Enterprise Manager wants to dial in to the Internet when I try to open up table design, and if I cancel the dial-in, the MMC window is simply blank -- no table design editing. This is rather miserable -- how do I fix this? (SQL Server 2000 client tools)

I found some code Dev Ashish posted nearly a decade ago in response to someone's inquiry describing their need to dial a number, monitor call progress and determine whether it was busy. This was back when A2.0 was more widely used, so the code is Access Basic. Autodialer is not the answer, as it requires users to take handsets off-hook manually. I find myself in need of more direct control of a voice/data/fax modem from an A97 program....

Hello all, I am having a bit a problem with the InternetDial function in the wininet.dll. The problem is that despite passing in a null terminated string as the lpszConnectoid param to the function it simply picks the top connection in an alphanumerically sorted list obtained from the rasapi32.dll RasEnumEntries function.

Hi!! I use OpenNETCF library to create a call. When I create voice call by Phone.MakeCall(number) program starts to dial up a number and on the PDA screen I see Phone dialog with information "Dialing...". Is there way to stop/cancel this action?? I want to do this because in this stage of the call I'm informed about the called party (out of network, connection can't be estabilished). I can't connect but my phone is still dialing.

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
