Sourcesafe Integration in Visual Studio .NET 2003 and SQL Server (MSDE) 2000

Hi,

I'm trying to get this going and I believe I have followed all the steps
outlined in the documentation.

I have selected to Add To Source Control the stored procedures in my
database from the Server Explorer in Visual Studio.

It then asks me the location of the sourcesafe database and enter this.
It then brings up a login dialog for SourceSafe. I enter this. This is
the same as the logon that SQL Server is running under and the same user
exists in SourceSafe with exactly the same user name and password.

It then brings up an error message saying this:

ADO error: SourceSafe: The SourceSafe database path he62136 does not
exist. Please select another database.

So, does anyone know how to get round this problem. It seems to be
using the login name as the sourcesafe database path.

Thanks,

Nick

I have a copy of MS Visual Studio 2002 Professional ACADEMIC which I understand is the same as the regular Professional version with the addition of a student CDROM. The installation program on the first CDROM only copies the MSDE to the harddrive and the copied setup file has to then be manually executed to complete the installation. Are the SQL tools such the SQL Enterprise Manager and MS Query included in the professional version? ...

I'm having trouble with VS.NET2003 and Visual SourceSafe. I upgraded from VS.NET2002 with Visual SourceSafe already installed, and then upgraded to 2003. My Source Control option has disappeared from the File menu. Also, when I open old projects that were already under source control, it doesn't connect properly to SourceSafe. It gives my an "unspecified error". Anybody know how to manual integrate the two?

Hello, I seem to be encountering a problem that many others have encountered before me. Unfortunately, even the mighty Google seems reluctant to yield any solutions. We are developing some webservices. We have multiple developers who have Visual Studio 2003 and SourceSafe 6.0d. None of our developers have IIS installed on their machines. We have a central test server that we want to work off which runs IIS and .NET 1.1. All of our...

Hi! I'm new to using sourcesafe. In fact I've never used it. We are 2 persons developing one windows application on 2 different computers. You can for sure understand our challenges, when we trie to merge this to versions to one. For this I'm considering to install VSS on our server. The installation part of VSS I think I understand, but how do I configure it and how is the best progression of using it? (also with debugging in...

I'm using Visual Studio, with ASP.NET. Is VSS on a separate CD. Also, is it possible to use the VSS beta (2005) with .NET if I'm not using the .NET beta. And finally, where do I get the VSS beta... when I go to msdn, it just directs me to a page with Whidbey downloads.... nothing mentioned on VSS TY Jason Shohet

Previously, we could use Visual Studio .Net 2002 combined with Visual SourceSafe 6.0 to maintain version control for Stored Procedures. (refer to "How to add SQL Server 2000 Stored Procedures to Visual SourceSafe by using Visual Studio .NET" at http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;818368 for details pls.) The most helpful thing is, there is a synchrinization link between the SQL 2000 Server and the VSS Database, we...

Hello, I have MSDE Installed on a different computer (WIndows 2003) within my network. I also have MSDE Installed on my production computer for development. I have successfully created databases on both computers using OSQL. What I would really like to accomplish is a connection from the Server Explorer in Visual Studio .NET.

Hi, I have the same .NET program developed on two machines, therefore, two different versions, call them A and B. There are following differences between A and B: 1) They have differences in source code; 2) Since A is developed in Visual Studio 2005 with .NET 2.0, but B is developed in Visual Studio 2003 with .NET 1.1, the project files are

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
