Hi everyone.
I am an Access developer having worked with Access-dev. projects for
many years on Sql server databases and Access.
For the internet I have been using traditional asp.

I have a user control, it must set a property when it is just created, so I set it in its constructor, which has an parameter to specify the property .
For example:
public class ExecQuest : UserControl,IOleClientSite,IDocHostUIHandler
{
public ExecQuest(Type showType)
{
this.showType = showType;
}

I'm attempting to migrate a predominately MFC application that I've just
inherited from
Visual Studio.NET 2003 to Visual Studio 2005. I've managed to clean up a
myriad of compile and link errors but I'm stuck on one final problem.
Please note that this application compiled/linked and ran just fine out of
Visual Studio.NET 2003.

I am an ASP.NET developer, and Visual Studio 2005 seems to have stopped
declaring the controls that I add in the *.designer.vb files, therefore
forcing me to manually add them before I can use them in code that I write
in the *.aspx.vb and *.ascx.vb files. Why is it no longer automatically
declaring the controls? Is there a way to manually...

Visual Studio 2005 recently stopped generating the *.designer.vb files for
my *.aspx and *.ascx files. I am using Service Pack 1, and do not believe I
did anything differently than normal prior to this happening. Is there
anything that could have caused this? Does anyone know of a way to fix it?
Thanks.

Visual Studio 2005 unexpectedly stopped generating the *.designer.vb files
for *.aspx and *.ascx files. After a few days of frustration trying to fix
this, I noticed that it had the following Warning in the Error List tab at
the bottom of the screen:
Generation of designer file failed: The relative virtual path '?/' is not
allowed here....

Hello, I am having a problem that I believe is related to the way a stream reader object looks for a text file by default. What I am doing is using a StreamReader object to read the text of a text file which includes some html code to populate html formatted content as the text of an asp:label (<asp:label>). The reading of the text file itself...

I'm not sure if this is an IIS 5.1 issue or ASP.NET issue, or Visual Studio
2008 issue -- thus posting to 3 groups. Please don't be offended.
The problem I'm encountering is that Visual Studio closes unexpectedly and
without any error message being displayed, or error messages written to the
system logs. Visual Studio closes when I attempt...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then...
