Create "Special" folder

Hi, Does anyone know how to make "special" folder apear under "My Computer".
Like the Control Panel, or when a Camera appears when plugged in. And have
it so that the contents of that folder is not actually part of the file
structure anywhere on a disk, but made up by some program?

Cheers
Greg

Hello group. In the following testcase I attach to the final of the message, I have two questions: 1) According to comment # 1, how can I pass an argument to the function that way? 2) According to comment # 2, why this special structure for the "for" statement is not working?

On this page of my website: http://www.zen62775.zen.co.uk/rigs.html the W3C html validator claims that there are some bytes it cannot interpret in line 49 of the html source as UTF-8. If I force ISO-8859-1 encoding, however, the page will validate correctly but displays a warning about the & character on the same line, saying that & is the "first character of a delimiter but occurred as data". Is there any way to remedy this problem/issue?...

Hi, I've been using Environment.GetFolderPath(Environment.SpecialFolder.ApplicationData) to get the application data folder for ASP.Net applications using IIS5.0 where it works for both the ASPNet machine account and for a different account if i configure the ASP.Net process to run as an alternative account by altering the machine.config file. It gives me back C:\Documents and Settings\myuser\Application Data where i'm using a local user...

The solution consists of the following: A single asp.net assembly to be deployed to web server A number of vb.net assemblies to be deployed to application server. Some of these assemblies will be shared by future applications. There is also a SQL Server DB that I need to install onto live server. The only way I have deployed asp.net app before is to copy my...

Hi, I've made some setups, I know how to add folders to my app folder, to the desktop, etc... But, I've face a new problem. In my new app, I need a folder in c:/, which contains an access database. So, I need in my setup to create a folder named for example "myfolder" (c:\myfolder) and add the mdb there. I've tried many options and can't find the solution, I'm sure it must be really easy, but I'm not able to find it. Anybody knows how to...

A day or two ago, I wrote a quick ASPX page with a CS codebehind using Visual Studio .NET 2005 -- it worked, I saved it and closed the project. Today, I came back to the project, reopened the solution, and was greeted with the following error: ======================================================================== It is an error to use a section registered as allowDefinition='MachineToApplication' beyond application level. This error...

Hello. Speical folders, like Desktop, usually have different display names. For example, in Japanese Windows, it's displayed as "$B%G%9%/%H%C%W(B". I want to get the this displayed name of a special folder but I can't find a suitable method. Environment.GetFolderPath() is to get the path not the name. There's no way provided the .NET BCL? I also tried to get it through Win32 API. I looked up the MSDN site...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
