Hello:
I need to parse some large XML files, and save the data in an Access DB. I
was using MSXML 2 and ASP, but it turns out to be extremely slow when then
XML documents are like 10 mb in size. It's taking over an hour to parse such
sizes!?
I don't really need to use ASP or a web server at all because I am parsing
all in my own computer. Is there any executable that can do this parsing
faster than the way I was doing it?

I've been doing some reading/research on parsing simple configuration
files through C, and have heard various opinions on the matter. I'd like
to solicit some opinions and design criteria (as well as "gotchas") for
doing this.
I'm implementing a program that needs to read a standard configuration
file, in key=value pairs for starters (though I'm open to other ideas).
Basically it would be no more than about 20 lines total, one key per...

I am trying to create a message text file for the Catagory field in order to
map the catagory input number to a string text. I have found some MSDN
information on this, but it appears to only be for C/C++.
What I have found in MSDN so far can be found here:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/debug/base/message_files.asp

Hi,
I have a web application that looks for a particular string in a set
of huge files( the files grow into MBs - max i have seen is 30 MB ). (
search using reg expressions ). the string can occur multiple times in
a file. whenver the string is found in a line, the whole line must be
printed in the output. What i am doing is,
1. traversing each file in the directory
2. In each file, read line by line
3. Match the regular expression. If...

Our application has an aspx page that sets the Response.ContentType based on
the file extension of the file selected, e.g. if .doc it sets it to
"Application/msword", if .gif it sets it to "image/gif", etc. What would I
use for .msg files that come from Outlook? Thanks.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...
