I couldn't find any postings on how to turn the VS.Net positioning grid on
and off in the Google archives, so I'm adding this posting for future
reference.
The VS.Net positioning grid is controlled for particular WinFowms via
properties. The 'SnapToGrid' property controls grid-snapping, the 'DrawGrid'
property controls display of the grid, and the 'Gridsize' property controls
the spacing of the grid. Defaults for new Winforms can be set...

Greetings!
I see from the group archives that a lot of people don't like how Snap to
Grid works when placing controls on forms. I am now among that number.
When I had the Windows Forms Designer option for snap to grid set to False
and the form's SnapToGrid and DrawGrid properties left at their default
settings, I could hold down Ctrl and use the arrow keys and my control would
move one pixel in the desired direction. But when I used...

Hi all,
I have now correctly set up my dataset and two grids, so that the parent
navigates the child.
THe thing is that the child table is actually a lookup type table. It lists
billing types for the parent table, so that I just store a key in the parent
table, and the show the billing type description from the child
I need to set this up in one grid. I have played arround with the tables and
columns collection in the ID, but cant seem to...

When you place controls on the Windows form, there's a grid of dots on
the form that defines the drop/alignment matrix.
In Visual Studio 6.0 Enterprise Edition, you could change the size of
the grid by going to the Tool->Options->General and putting in a higher
grid size so that you had better control of placing controls.
I want to do the same thing in Visual Studio .NET 2003. I went to the
Tools -> Options -> Windows Forms Designer ->...

I'm almost embarrassed to ask this but I'll be damned if I can figure it
out. Where is the menu item/command to display the grid
on the form? I've looked through the options and what not but can't
find it. I know its gotta be something simple I'm overlooking (aren't
they always) so if anyone here can point it out to me I sure would
appreciate it.
Thanks!

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
