Pretty simple question here.
If I do a format and I want to incluide a { or a } how do I go about it. It
seems you can't eacape it with a backslash.
Sofar all I have done is string.Format(" {0}","{"); Is there a better way?
Thanks

You can also do: string s = @"{0}";
That won't help. The @ only makes a difference at compile-time, and the
compiler doesn't care about { or } in a string.
For instance:
Console.WriteLi ne ("{0}", 1);
is the same as
Console.WriteLi ne (@"{0}", 1);

Hi All,
Can anybody point me to a FAQ or similar that describes what all this
stuff is about please?. I'm interfacing with a MySQL database if that's
relavent. I've read a couple of books which refer to stripslahes and
'escaping' but nothing really explains what these terms are and why these
are used. Why is 'escaping' (whatever that is) used?. What the hell is a
magic quote?. How is it different from a non-magic one?.
Regards,
Dave

Sorry for the double question. I'm having a terrible time figuring out
how to escape apostrophes in my mySQL database. Perhaps they have to
be escaped in the PHP, using mysql_real_escape_string?
This is the code:

I have this simple code,
string escaped = Regex.Escape( @"`~!@#$%^&*()_=+{}\|;:',<.>/?" + "\"" );
string input = @"a&+" + "\"" + @"@(-d)\e";
Regex re = new Regex( string.Format(@"(+)", escaped),
RegexOptions.CultureInvariant );
string s = re.Replace( input, "" );
It doesn't seem to work, regular expression return without filter out any
character

Hello everyone,
While I'm a newbie here, I a not new to google, so please don't send
me back, it would be useless.
First of all I have to specify I am working on a Blogger.com template,
therefore anything I'll write should be stuck on a single file.
I thought about creating a funny pop-up.
<a href="javascript:myFunction();"...
that's because, as you will see, the code for the popup is pretty
complex.
I've insterted myFunction somewhere...

Hi everyone,
I'm having a bit of trouble understanding the purpose of escaping
nulls, and the use of addcslashes.
Firstly, the manual states that:
"Strictly speaking, MySQL requires only that backslash and the quote
character used to quote the string in the query be escaped. This
function quotes the other characters to make them easier to read in

Hi,
I found one issue with the StreamWriter class where the
StreamWriter.Write API interprets anything between { } as a formatter.
So if I write myStreamWriter.Write("This is test code { Ha Ha Ha }
string contd"); then I get a FormatException. I have not been able to
find a clean way of escaping the { ... } so that StreamWriter does not
treat it as a formatter.
Does some one know how to do this?

optparse seems to be escaping control characters that I pass as
arguments on the command line. Is this a bug? Am I missing
something? Can this be prevented, or worked around?
This behaviour doesn't occur with non-control characters.
For example, if this program (called test.py):
from optparse import OptionParser
parser = OptionParser()
parser.add_option("-d", dest="delimiter", action="store")

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
