When I request a URL using urllib2, it appears that urllib2 always
makes the request using HTTP 1.0, and not HTTP 1.1. I'm trying to use
the "If-None-Match"/"ETag" HTTP headers to conserve bandwidth, but if
I'm not mistaken, these are HTTP 1.1 headers, so I can't reasonably
expect a web server to respond correctly to my requests. (In my...

Apologies if the is the wrong NG.
But I have trapped a GET issued by a webpage on a button press and I would
like to issue the GET programatically as-and-when I wish.
I wondered what the text before the get text signifies? I imagine they are
variable names and parameter values.
Is this correct?

For performance reason, the follwoing code (C#) to capture
all the Request collection contexts is NOT recommended:
string ID = Request.QueryString;
But how to Capture the individual Request properties
needed in the application?
Thanks,

Looking for some general design recommendations on an authentication scheme
for B2B transactions inbound via an HTTP Post Listener ASPX page that reads
the binary stream from the request body. I would like to add an
authentication process that validates the incoming transaction prior to
processing the post content. Although adding username...

I am programming what is to be a web service client that will use an
HTTP-POST to request and retrieve data. The remote server (written in java
for what it's worth) requires basic authentication as per RFC 2617
(http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc2617.html). My attempts to authenticate are
failing. The server requires the header to be present with...

Hi,
I would like to find out exactly what is being sent when a web page uses the
post request method. My thought was to use the webbrowser control together
with the HTTPWebRequest class, but am having trouble tying the two together.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Clif

Hi,
I tried the packet capture module program.
I did a file transfer using ftp from this host to another server.
But when I ran the program, it was just hanging off and it did not print the src ip, dst ip, src port, dst port.
Should I run this program as a Daemon? If so, how do I do that?
I would appreciate your response.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then...
