Moving/Installing an ASP.NET Web App.

I have developed a very simple ASP.NET web application on
my local PC. I have IIS running on my local PC. I am
able to successfully open/run this application in
Internet Explorer on my local PC when I browse to
http://localhost/WebApplication1/WebForm1.aspx.

I then copied the WebApplication1 folder and all it
contents from my local PC to an actual web server. I
tried to open/run the application from this web server,
but the textboxes and button were missing and the labels
were not aligned. Although Internet Explorer didn't give
me any error messages, it appears that Internet Explorer
is confused as to how to handle the contents of
WebForm1.aspx. Something must be missing or not
organized properly.

How do I move/install my web application to/on an actual
web server? In other words, what folders/files need to
be copied to the web server? Does the web server need to
be running IIS to run my web application? Does any other
special ASP.NET related software need to be installed on
the web server so that it can run my application?

Thanks your help.

You need to have the .NET runtime installed on the web server you are
deploying to. You may also need to run aspnet_regiis.exe on the site you are
deploying, to configure that web site to use asp.net as the handler for the
various script types it may encounter. AFAIK, IIS is the only web server
that will work for ASP.NET.
