Hello group, I'm trying to develop a proof of concept webservice which asynchronously calls a function in a DLL. The function raises an event when it is finished, and works when used as part of a windows form. When I try to hook up the webservice to the event and call the WS, the CPU goes to 100% and I have to restart the WWW service. Does anyone have an idea as to how this can be done ... and if not, directions to a tall bridge would...

Hi guys! I'm new to JS / Ajax; I've been trying to do an Ajax call to my Webservice ( I'm using C# for code-behind). I'm not using any of the libraries available. I am sending my CustID to the webservice and the webservice returns a Dataset that contains various customer details taken from database. I have tested that the Webservice itself works. But my ajax call is not working. My ajax call is something like :

I have two user controls on a master page. I can easily bubble up an event on usercontrol 1 from a click event to the page.aspx, than then calls a method on the masterpage, but this causes the screen to do a postbacka nd full load. What I'm doing is i have a button on one user control that when clicked it will dynamically load a usercontrol into a placeholder on the masterpage. I know that if I were to put everything into an update...

Hi I am running asp.net ajax (vs 2008) I have the following webservice listed below. However, i have no idea how to call this from javascript. Originally, before i started using the BeginXXX and EndXXX as per http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa480516.aspx I could easily call the webmethod via in this case "WebService_speech.GenerateSpeechDataForText" but now im not sure how to call it.

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
