Which browser and OS ? The button is rendered by the browser... (or are you
creating a Windows Forms application in which case the ASP.NET group is not
suitable).

VS has nothing to do with this problem. Which theme is used by your OS ?.
Buttons are rendered by the browser using the underlying OS services. So my
guess would depend that you have a theme settings on your XP machine that
still uses the old style...

You also have an option for this in IE7 "Internet options", "advanced" tab :
"Apply visual styles for buttons and controls in web pages". Make sure this
is checked. (translated from French, the actual wording may vary).

Make sure both conditoons are met and you should have the "modern" style...

Recently, I have been needing to do this alot and I can never find a way around it, the main reason I want to do this is because for example in the application I am making right now, it creates a grid of buttons in a loop and they all have the same purpose so they need to call the same method, within this method they need to change the background color of the button clicked, I've tried stuff like... button = lambda: self.fill(button) ...

Ok, this is kinda dumb. I'm trying to wrap my head around the use of the MVC and Command Patterns. The questions basically concern where to place code. In the MVC pattern, where are the Commands instansiated? Are they created by the Controller, or are they contained fully in the Model. In other words, if I had a button that I wanted to use to save an object is it something like this (not real code obviously): button_click {...

I feel like an idiot. I've been struggling with this for 4 days. I can make a window but I can't seem to close them. I think I've narrowed down the problem being with my button event bindings. They don't seem to take. But I don't get any errors either. So am I missing something? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. I have a command button “AddIncidentâ€. I would like to make it so that it will not add the record to the database if textbox “Type†is empty. I also would like to add a message that will prompt the user with the message “You must enter incident Type†when textbox “Type†is empty and the “AddIncident†button is pressed. I'm trying to embed a command window in a form in VB.NET. I remember back in the old days there was a button in the IDE to add the window, and I never really learned how it worked. I just downloaded Visual Basic 2008 Express Edition and the button no longer exists. Does anyone know how to initialize and embed a command window into a form or control of some sort? Thanks.

I am working on a database that has a main menu, many sub-menus and some sub-sub-menus. They are all forms that have numerous command buttons on them to open forms and reports in the database. The database has hundreds of forms and reports. I was asked to go through all the menu forms and determine if all the buttons worked, if there were any problems when either the form or report opened and to come up with a list of the forms and reports...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
