IsNumeric(value) should return false if value "can not be
successfully converted to a Double." Instead I get the
following error message: "Input string was not in a
correct format."
I use the following function in a validating class to use
when needed. (Value = H880118A gave the error (like
other 'unconvertible' strings))
Public Function Numeric(ByVal value) As Boolean

Guys
I have built a database with saved queries that runs fine in Access
but when I call it from the web using ASP, an exception occurs. I
have tried multiple ways of testing the databases with the following
results. www.brinkster.com has a tool on their free asp hosting where
you can dump an access .mdb database on there and then run SQL queries
against it. Using Access databases it is possible to just call the
query by using its...

Hello and Thanks in advance for any help. I am using Access 2000.
I have a data entry form that opens a main form (using the On Click
event of the combo box ) with tab controls and 1 subform
on the last tab control. The main form is opened using a where clause
to restrict the contact type. The subform is built on a separate
table that lists other contact types that the contact could be a

Hi, it's me again!
I have a strange problem with a form I gotta (dynamically) insert in a
site, and copied/pasted the code to a blank page, to make it easier to
try it out. I was using the $ function of script.aculo.us, which is
substituted by the equivalent document.getElementById in the code below
(and the problem is still the same).
The "mystery" is that this code WORKS both in FF 2 and IE 6, but IE
gives an error at the moment when...

I am using a webservice client that was created from a WSDL file
in .Net 1.1.
The client ALWAYS works the first time I call it.
The second call returns one of two exceptions. It either returns the
error:
A) The connection has been closed on a receive : Unable to read data
from the transport connection: An existing connection was forcibly
closed by the remote host.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
